Good points. Thanks for your comments
Thanks for taking the time to respond to my post. You’ve given me some things to think about.
What is the best way to minimumiz warping in a wooden sign made from quarter sawn white oak hung outdoors? I have my own ideas but am always looking for good advice. Thanks
For those of you having trouble with a vibrating table faw, I've gone through every adjustment with precision instruments and adjusted everything to o.001" on my Delta contractors table saw with...
What ever takes, right?
Thanks for the comment. Is your 14 & 16 needing restoration? I've had great time restoring mine. Crowning the new rubber tires is the last thing needing to be done. Looking forward to using it.
Thanks. Do you have a WT bandsaw?
I've been restoring an old Walker Turner bandsaw over the past few months and the last thing remaining is crowning the rubber tires. The bottom tire was easy because it's driven by the motor;...
I haven't had any problem with any part of the restoration; however, I don't feel comfortable crowning the tires... Installing tires isn't a problem. I was hoping to find a place that can install and...

I've about completed my restoration of a 1940s Walker Turner bandsaw. Does anyone know where I can get new tires installed as well as new bearings for the shafts?
Do you need a spring or a shorter length blade?
Thought I'd send you a picture of the bearings I got on Ebay. They have the grove like the original but don't have the oil hole in the shaft. Don't see that as a problem.273220
Thanks. I agree with your thinking, sealed bearings make a lot of sense. I'll give accurate bearings a call today to discuss. Thanks again. Bill
Good information. Thhanks
Thanks Terry. The only bearings needing to be replaced are the ones on the upper and lower wheels. I found blade thrust bearings on EBay for $44 if you ever need any. Go to...
Though I'd completed my 14" WT band saw but I think I have a bad bearing. The saw seems to run fine until it starts to slow down when I turn it off, then there's a short vibration which I hadn't...
I recently made a mail box out of PVC and simply did a light sanding and wiped it down with Acetone and painted it with a good grade of latex paint. So far so good.

One possible solution would be to line the inside of the box with a thin (color?) let''s say white, plexiglas. Use silicone to adhere glass to all sides including the top & bottom and then put the...
To determine the blade length, assuming both wheels have the same diameter, simply determine the circumference of a wheel and add that to twice the distance between the wheel's center points. Be sure...
Sorry for butting in but I think the size is referring to the file size. Right click on your picture, select properties. Look at "size"... if it's larger than 1.9 MB it more than likely will not...
Why cut a hole in the door? Can you mount a shop-vac hose under the table at the lower guide assembly?
Amazing. Thanks
