Hey all! this is my 1957 Delta Homecraft 46-111 I bought for $75 last week. I am not new to woodworking but I am new to turning. I have yet to try it as I dont have lathe tools yet and am working on...
I contacted Delta an they informed me I have a 1957 Homecraft 46-111 Lathe. They are super nice and helpful. even sent me the manual.
Just thought I would update everyone. I raised the out-feed table as per Robert Hazelwood's post. It now cuts beautifully with no sniping. Thank you all for your info and help! I am up and running...
Ya I will most likely use it as it is for now but I am considering modifying a treadmill motor and controller then wiring a tach on the lathe so I know what rpm I am at. I figure I can do this for...
Good to know. I will take a second look where you said the serial number would be. I have looked all over the dang thing but haven't found it. Maybe the second times the charm.
Thank you,
Aaron
This is a good bit of advise. I will try that today and hopefully that will fix the problem. Thank you!
Awesome! I thought it was a score. I have a small fleet of vintage Delta machines now. I am really attracted to vintage machinery and couldn't pass this up when I found it. I believe I the gentleman...
As far as I can tell everything is there and in working order. I would like a larger tool rest down the road once I need it. All in all it has me pretty excited to learn about turning. Any decent...
I think I found a good spot for it where it will hopefully not have to move often, but I was considering casters. Yes it does have Jack screws on the knives.

I purchase a Delta lathe today. I haven't measured yet but it looks like it could turn a 12" dia. piece. It says Delta Rockwell on the badge. Delta Rockwell Homecraft on another badge. I dont have an...
I am very happy with it. It seems to function very well. I need to adjust the out-feed table a little, as there is some snipe at the end of boards but I picked up an old delta lathe today too so I...
I just picked up this Delta jointer for 80 bucks locally. I know its a 1939-1941 based on the badge. it is a 6" jointer with a beefy stand I presume is home made. It has a 3/4 HP craftsman motor on...
Thanks Mike Kees, appreciate your input. I will go with the cheapest route, Thank you.
You think I could break the saw with HP? I feel that old motors like the first one tend to run more belts than needed for the HP. I would switch it to a single belt pulley. Now a days we see 3 HP...
I will be re-sawing any where from 4-10" usually around 6-8". I know this saw will have some limitations and I will likely find myself, like you, buying a bigger saw in the future. I just have to...
I also just found this 1 1/2 hp baldor motor that is 1725 RPM but cant imagine 1 1/2 HP is better than 3 HP, but what do I know... Here are some pics.415085415086
Hello all, I recently purchased a Rockwell 28-2C0 which is basically the wood only version of the 28-200 I learned thanks to you all here on the forum. I will be installing a 6" riser and will be...
How hard was it for you to modify the grizzly riser? I am seriously considering doing the same thing, as the delta risers are going for almost 300 US dollars.
This is good to know as I will probably be interested in adding a riser later! Thanks for the tip on the grizzly riser. I think its going to be a good saw. I am going to get a new blade for it here...
I had the same thought the only thing that led me to believe possibly otherwise was a pair of shoes for it at this website...
Hey thanks for all the responses! I did not notice them right away as I thought I was going to get a notification.
Thank you for this tip that would be nice as it does throw quite a bit of...
I just purchased a Rockwell 14" 28-2C0 bandsaw. When I was researching the saw I thought it was a 28-200 that had been mounted on another base. I could find a lot of info on the 28-200 but almost...
