Please register me for the drawing. Thank you.
Problem solved. Thanks for the assistance.
Creekers:
Recently someone identified a need for donated turning tools at a school in Chicago. I said I’d be happy to donate a box full, but have lost the address.
If you recognize this...
Mike, jumping in late with your sanding issue but here’s another option: drill press with a flexible shaft from Garrett Wade

Flex. Shaft With Chuck
In stock
$48.80
$39.50
Rob, try it you may like it. Is resinous, pale yellow, and frequently has voids or “character” marks from branches. We have plenty in GA as it is used as a privacy screen between houses.

Thanks for the heads up. The local HF was out of stock, but expecting more tonight. They issued a gift card for the amount purchase and I will trade it for a replacement tomorrow....if I'm there...
Another option is a drill press with a flexible drive shaft. I'm using a Harbour Freight floor model and the flex shaft from Lee Valley with keyed chuck. Quiet, lightweight, and easy to use.

Dave, Reed (points down) makes a great point. If it is not an art show you will need to establish yourself as an art turner not a "user-bowl" turner. An Impala always sells for more than a Civic. ...
That's $165-175 in my show. You can always reduce the price in a negotiation. Really hard to raise it.
All the best, Tom, in Douglasville, always trying to determine the market.
Thanks for the responses. I've got 5 or 6 Ellsworth's, this is the first one to get "too short to sharpen." I thought perhaps there was another use I had not thought of. Plus it's fun to...
One of the first Ellsworth gouge's I bought is now too short to sharpen. I've ground a flat on the steel between the handle and the flute and extended the life for a short time. So what to do?

Fellow Creekers:
So today I noticed that the blade on the Griz 513 was riding on the front edge of the lower wheel while the blade was tracking on dead center on the upper wheel. This is a new...
Ken, welcome back to the spinning wood world. I remember when you were "bombed" with your first lathe way back in the last century. Glad to learn you've fired up the 3520 and are enjoying turning...
Looks like Mesquite from this side of the Mississippi.
Robert, that is incredibly detailed and realistic. You have amassed wonderful variety of turning skills. All the best, Tom
Thanks for each of you for your response. Rip and Router had not crossed my feeble mind. I've used PVC for threaded closures so know that process. This will be fun. Updates to follow, but don't...
So, the commission is for a cremation urn in the shape and form of a baseball bat. "But it won't hold all the ashes." I says. "I don't care," says the requester, "it will hold what it holds."

Brian, Like you I went through a couple of Neiko's before discovering the Lee Valley $35 flex drive. It attaches to your drill press and PRESTO you have quiet power sanding. The flex drive will...
Bill that is a wonderful piece. The superlatives could go on for several paragraphs, but I'll spare you and simply say, thanks for sharing.
Robert, beautiful seems to be the word of the day for your piece and who am I to disagree! It is beautiful. Thanks for sharing the method and the photos. All the best, Tom
I"ve been using the Lee Valley version for several years, driven by a 1HP motor on a Delta 17" DP at 800RPM. Works great and handles the 3" discs with ease. Positioning the drive shaft over your...
John, you might check on OWWM.org for parts availability and recent pricing. Second, budget some funds for a couple of lessons from the local woodturning club. Lessons will make your experience...
