Purpleheart is very dull / "gray" when it's first milled. It will brighten up considerably with time and light. I've yet to see Purpleheart turn brown.

This.
Most woodworkers today only want lumber that's less than the width of their jointer. 6-8". Maybe 12". If it's wider it gets ripped. I am a fan of wide lumber myself, but I do acknowledge...
I had that same one and sold it for $200, which I thought was a really good price. I think I bought it for $150. That's way too high. Keep looking.
Simple green works amazingly for cleaning any sanding discs or belts. Even burnt-on gunk just falls off. Takes a little more work, but if you want a 100% thorough clean, it's the way to go.
Try supergrit.com
Excellent customer service and great prices on just about anything relating to sanding. That's where I get all my discs.
You seriously overpaid. I'm in FL, which is about as expensive as it gets due to freight. 8/4 Hard Maple is $8.60/bdft near me. So $35 for that piece. Wherever you went, don't go back.
It is largely just luck of the draw. Good deals go quick, so keep a good eye out and be patient. Expand your search area if you can. Check daily or twice daily if you can. The other thing to consider...
Simple green works amazingly.
Dull knives are dull, but there's a huge range to describe "dull". It's largely opinion based. One person's dull is another person's "I could run that for another 6 months."
The best way is...
I'm in need of a few minor replacement parts for a used Hammer A3-26 I bought. What's the best way to get these? I've never gone through Felder/Hammer since I just bought this from a local seller....
I've never heard of Frank Jones. Just based off that I'd probably lean towards Fay & Egan myself. It also seems to have more resaw height.
I agree here. I'm sure some shops run those saws for 8hrs a day under moderate load. I doubt an hour of unloaded running should do any harm at all. Something is not right..
I will say, since you converted it to single phase 5hp with a new motor and magnetic, that should help the sale quite a bit.
If it had a helical head in it you could probably get 3k for it, but...
One thing I'll add. I once had a much larger shop with a huge full-size 5hp cyclone with twin canister filters and ducting throughout. Then I downsized and ended up with a mobile Grizzly 2hp dust...
Eh I can't really blame her. Sounds a lot like you were looking for a sink for a counter :D
"Countersink drill bit" would have improved your odds I think lol
Both the Grizzly 21" and the Harvey Ambassador 14" have 14" resaw heights. I think he's aiming for a cheap third saw with a 12-14" resaw height so he doesn't have to remove the resaw blade on his...
What about this?

Any reason you couldn't use that in a regular hot...
No clue about the actual filler, but that "chisel" they sell seems like a terrible idea. Looks like a typical $10 plane blade with a block of wood glued on. And they want $70? The problem I see is...
Nothing's wrong with it. Some people just *think* there's something wrong with it :)
Oh yikes! It was $3750 when I bought it a few years ago. I upgraded to an older full size Paoloni. I still miss that Grizzly, I was very happy with it. Felt just as solid as the Paoloni honestly....
I'll put in my vote for Vacupress. I bought the Green Compact 300 and one of their 4'x8' bags. Came with everything I needed and it took like 10 minutes for me to get up and vacuuming. Excellent...
I had a Grizzly G0623x and I absolutely loved it. Solid, easy to use, accurate. Never had any issues. I'd easily put it in the same category as Hammer/Minimax personally. About $1k less expensive. I...
I had a 16" Moak jointer at one point and also restored a 16" Crescent. I like to take pride in my machines, so I say if you're going keep it for an extended period of time, then restore it and paint...
Shou sugi ban is indeed a very nice, interesting finish when accomplished well. Not right for every surface, but very tactile.
Hopefully the market will soon be flooded with oversupply and prices will plummet. One can hope.. :D
