In real time I have watched people free hand cut on a table saw, several times. Scared me watching and still scares me thinking about it.
Very good video, thanks for posting.
I sometimes look at one of my projects and wonder where i got the ambition to spend so much time making the object. Cannot help but wonder what drove that man...
Become a Contributor. Been a while for me but I think it is ~$6.00 a year minimum.
A faceplate with a 2X mounted to it is what I use. Bring the tailstock up for a friction drive.
I have several different sizes of 2X southern yellow pine, cheap wood here, for different size...
Not for 3 phase but my air compressor I put a pilot light on the circuit with HD parts. I moved my compressor from the shop to an out building and did not want it powered on all the time. It is on...
Looking good Bruce. I continue to be amazed with your ability to hand draw your designs on the wood. I can be very creative following another persons "plans". Never progressed much beyond stick...
A 6' stepladder worries me more than any power tool ever has. Over the years I have operated machines and tools from a D9 dozer to a 16" circular saw while hanging over the edge of a seawall and too...
I agree, a beautiful piece of wood and well executed.
Extremely well done! That is one wild design. May I ask what the inspiration was for the design?
Congratulations on the bid. Fill me in on why you find this bandsaw desirable please. Do not take this in a negative way. I know nothing about the machine and am just curious why you want one.
Check Jim Bode Tools item 98141. Has both the 4 and 9 listed.
Sorry, just looked closer and they are sold.
The commercial made imported ones are held together with only the wire. It is hooked over the edge of one of the bottom slats then twisted at the top until tight. They hold up for years or until the...
Thank you for all the suggestions. Here is what I ended up doing.
Did not want to spend a lot of time building a jig for each size of basket my pile of cutoffs would allow. I found 18 gauge...
Having trouble seeing a way to glue up teak baskets for orchid plants.
The one on the left in the picture is a commercial made octagon basket that shows a completed one. I am making square ones,...
For a slightly oversized handle hole I like to use epoxy thickened with glass beads. Fills the gap and produces a strong hold. If doing a lot of them of course having the exact size drill bit would...
Way better.
I have a Drill Doctor that I have used for quite a few years. Works well. A year ago or so I bought one of these. No comparison for the few I have sharpened on it so far.
I believe Grizzly has a...
A picture or two might help every one come up with some good solutions

Not Ed, but here is what I do. Pictures also show a box with an "installed" lip.
I turn a round recess in the top. Then turn a round inlay of the correct diameter to match the recess on the lid....
I think you have done some nice work. the lip is too tall on both boxes in my opinion though.
You have a decent top to bottom grain match, even with the tall lip. I often part the lid at the line...
PVA, Titebond ll, is my go to for sealing end grain. I do not do much fresh cut wood these days but I quit buying Anchorseal years ago.
Another extremely well done project. I am partial to green so I especially like this one.
I have a Woodriver plane I picked up at an estate sale that looks to have never been used. A number 5 jack plane that was made to look like the old Stanley Bedrock planes. It is a well made very good...
You sold 24 bowls and made ~$8000 profit???
Please tell me more about your methods.
