I have a 1.5HP Oneida mini dust cyclone in excellent condition. This model was purchased back in 2015 approx and has only seen some light hobby use. This version is all steel construction with a...
Keith,
I am looking at downsizing my larger cyclone dust collector to the "Dust Cobra" for a quieter and smaller machine. Can you tell me how quiet would you say the Dust Cobra is? I will be...
Thanks for the great recommendations. It is nice to hear some feedback on an item before shelling out $$.
Do you think the Powermatic PM1500 could tension a 3/4" lenox carbide blade well? What lenox blade model were you using Jim?
What bandsaw blade have you been able to get the cleanest rip cuts as close to table-saw quality as possible? I have been looking at the 3/4" wood-slicer blade or 3/4" Laguna carbide resaw blade. I...
Congrats on selling your table saw. I would recommend the following book for a hybrid woodworker, it is by Jim Tolpin and is called "The new traditional woodworker". ...
Thanks for the MFT with adjust-a-bench photo nice idea.
My experience was the Laguna bandsaw was under-powered when under load, where the PM 1500 has a larger 3HP motor. Also the quality control was not consistent on the Laguna, where on prior Powermatic...
I am looking to get a Powermatic PM1500 15" bandsaw and was hoping to get some feedback from woodworkers who have used this model (good or bad experience). I have a single car garage woodshop and...
Jim,
Do you think an MFT top attached to a solid workbench frame/base would have the capability of performing hand & power tool woodworking effectively? I saw your post of a hybrid MFT/Solid...
Great tips. A new shooting board is on my to-do-list. Thanks!
My other option is to ditch the cabinet TS and invest in a 17" bandsaw for shop use and use a jobsite tablesaw outside when needed.
Thanks for all the feedback! I will try to fab up some shorter rails and try that in case I ever upgrade the saw.
Thanks, I am looking to shorten the fence guide tube and rails more than most. Guide rails cut flush with the table-saw cast-iron top will limit the rip capacity to 14" wide rip cuts. Not sure if I...
I am downsizing into a smaller workshop. I currently have a 3hp cabinet tablesaw and it is takes up too large of a footprint. Has anyone ever cut the fence rails shorter almost flush with the cast...
I would consider the Noden adjust-a-bench that would give you a wide range of working height options. http://www.adjustabench.com/
Another option I have seen is a 2 height workbench as featured by...
Great post, thanks for the pictures Alex! I am going to have to make something similar with folding legs.
Nice layout, great use of space.
I like the handheld sander collection idea, I think I will have to get one of those.
Awesome bandsaw addition. I will have to borrow this idea! Thanks!
Great tips, I like the t-track idea.
Thanks for sharing your process and photos. Great tips!

I found out there is this new hitachi 7.25" miter saw coming out in 2019. This model has 11.5" crosscut capacity with dual bevel,...
Richard, how good is the dust collection on that saw when hooked to a shop vacuum?
