How about an Inca table saw? You can find used ones in great condition...
The way I was taught bent lamination (by Michael Fortune and Adrian Ferrazzutti) was to thickness the laminates on a planer. Michael uses a lunchbox planer to thickness his laminates; he thinks that...
If you are getting gaps, then your laminates are likely too thick for the radius of bend you are attempting to get. What is the width of the laminates you are using? Why not use a planer as opposed...
Perhaps, but the strength is over 2500 psi. I suspect that the issue with the pull away is the pecan shells. Or is it that the shop sawn veneer was rough sawn so the glue is not strong in filling...
You spent a lot of money on the saw, why economize on the blades? By blades that were designed for a European slider. Three options that Felder/Hammer owners seem to like:
1. Tenryu
2. Leitz...
No idea if Titebond Cold Press Veneer has problems with shop sawn veneer, but the manufacturer's data doesn't recommend against it.
...
Yeah, and I'd use a plain vanilla PVA glue before contact cement any day of the week. Still, any glue you use will potentially bleed through unless it has a pore blocker in it. Besides the Cold...
Titebond Cold Press Veneer glue is a PVA glue with ground up pecan shells that serve to block the pores and limit glue bleed through. It's been my go to glue for veneering since I learned the...
is there veneer on the table now? If so, have you removed it? What is the edge? Veneered or a moulding? Lots of information is needed before providing advice on how to proceed.
Congrats on
Making the shortlist!!!
I use a wheeled lift cart from Rangate -- it is a bit more robust that the Felder FAT 300. I built a RUWI inspired top for it and it is fantastic! My garage floor is neither level or even, but the...
Two options:
1. Convenience: ship to house. No need to go pick it up.
2. Acquisition: ship to store. Opportunity to buy more stuff.

The clamps aid in accuracy as the stock doesn't move. Before I got Mac's clamps, the stock would sometimes move which lead to inaccurate/non-square cuts. And with the clamps, I can use them for...
I've used Uship and had good luck.
There's a tool for that: a shaper. I wouldn't trust such a bit in a router whether it was hand held or table mounted.
Was you steam box made with marine plywood? Mine is out of MDO but it is only a few months old. Seems to work pretty well. Michael Fortune recommends using marine plywood.
FYI, there is a Felder technician in Idaho now -- not sure exactly of his location, but there was one there in June.
You can set the machine up yourself. This video guide on how to calibrate...
Does it have the shaper hood? While it has 2 eccentric clamps, you will likely find it a fantastic upgrade to get the following:
1. A set of Mac Campsure's Airtight clamps (~~$2.5k)....
To the OP, what are you wanting to use plywood for? You might consider making some lumber core...

Craig Thibedo makes lumber core with skins of...
Interesting. I never get a finish off of a planer that is acceptable -- they always have knife marks. Is my experience atypical? I always presume I will have to hand plane, scrape, or sand to get...
no idea what to do about an Altendorf, but perhaps this video on setting up a Felder helps.

If you are hand cutting them, I'd go with a 1:7 or 1:8 ratio so that they are more distinguishable as hand cut. I'd also suggest a ⅛" lip.

They are very nice. Do the judges give feedback? That would be potentially quite useful. I know Michael Fortune was a judge a couple of times. And Adrian Ferrazzutti won last year in his category....
Some excellent advice here. I had the opportunity to take a three week course with Ellia at Anderson Ranch where we built Curtis Buchanon's Velda chair:
505585
I highly, highly recommend...
what is the desired finished width of the table tops? Thickness? Length?
What dimensions are the stock from whence these tops will be created?
