I only celebrate Tau Day (June 28). Take a look: https://tauday.com/
It's a nice "manifesto" explaining why Tau=2Pi is a better number to use.

I agree with this. It won't give you a real answer, but it will give you some guidance as to a price floor for the area (since you are building custom, you should be well above that floor). Last...
No reason not to use kitchen cabinets as long as the space underneath will be useful storage for you. Take two cabinets and leave a gap between them to recess the saw into.
Johnny,
Until you mentioned it, I was in the "center spike contact is needed" camp. Of course, now I remember that I've used them for many a baluster hole in a stair railings, proving you quite...
You are correct 10" only.
To add to your confusion, the new Makita LS1019L has the same sliding action as the Kapex/Hitachi and dual dust collection ports. I'm waiting for a few more reviews on that one before biting the...
John Mulaney and Tom Segura are great. I have a John Mulaney Pandora station that also introduced me to Chad Daniels, Gary Gulman and Dan Cummins (to name a few).
Chrome, but only because I've been delaying switching back to Firefox...
Homebrewers modify fridges all the time for this. If you search for "home brew fridge fermentation" you should find a bunch of ideas and cheap electronic controls.
As others have said already, circular saw guide would be the way to go. Here's a quick "How To": http://www.finehomebuilding.com/2010/11/11/make-a-saw-guide-for-faster-cleaner-cuts
I have a 4x8...
Marketing ploy...or they assume the oil will wipe off except where the floor is scratched/damaged (hence the restore part).
BOOM!
e^(i*TAU)=1
BOOM!
I love the TAU manifesto.
Chris,
I have a 10" slider that has been beat to hell from years of abuse in the construction industry. I'm no longer a full time carpenter, but plan to buy a new miter saw before running trim and...
I've had my charger insist that some of my batteries were dead. Tried it again a few hours later and everything was fine.
Tom,
I'm trying to better understand what you are seeing. It sounds like the nailer is set into the stud bays and the "second layer of lap siding" is nailed to that to be flush with the face of the...
I might have to change my answer. I HATE car repair even knowing that I save thousands of dollars doing it myself. Given a choice, I'd take drywall over car repair because I hate drywall, but I...
The correct answer is drywall (hanging, spackeling, and sanding).
At the opposite end (not including woodworking/trimwork) would be electrical work. I love running wires and installing boxes.
That IS what the pro's would do. One mans opinion, but I can paint trim faster than I can mask for spraying.
I've tried every type of drill bit for ceramic tile, but eventually settled on standard masonry bits in progression (e.g. to drill a half inch hole start with 1/8" then 3/8", then 1/2" bit). Fastest...
Never did a bus tour so can't help there, but as a woodworker, I highly suggest seeing the Frick Collection (http://www.frick.org/). The art work is pretty nice, but everytime I go, I'm distracted...
Same question from me. From what I've read, the Bosch is the worst for dust collection (Dewalt being the best of the non-Kapex field). How true is that?
My 2 cents. I have yet to build my own kitchen cabinets, but have done a fair share of built ins and custom closets that were very similar to kitchen cabinets.
1. Get prefinished ply for the...
Allan,
If you are going the screw route, why not go through the side at an angle (thus preserving the inlay)? Also, I was glad to see the guitar photo (when I first clicked, I thought you were...
The Bosch system doesn't damage your saw blade, which is a nice touch.
I've worked with a bunch of different drills. Used to have DeWalt XRP NiCad stuff when I started out. When I was a GC, I ran all Makita Lithium Ion. I also worked with some other contractors and...
