Every time something like this comes up there are always some people who say it's perfectly safe and that it's all about "what you are comfortable with". Anyone who would call an operation like this...

Doing anything over the pavers is asking for trouble. Take the advice the others have offered and do it right. You will wish you had when you are doing it over.

It might be the blade is pulling the wood around. Try clamping the wood to the fence and see if it's any better. If not, try a thicker blade that will not wander as much.
Having the chop saw on the 14" wall is being a problem unless you never will need to cut over 7' (with saw in middle). Maybe put saw where "future router table" is now so to cut longer stock. Jointer...
