If I'm going to let it set for a while, maybe a month or so, should I seal the ends and if so, with what?
I had a rather large limb broken off one of my maple trees in a recent storm and I'm wondering if the large protion is worth keeping for small turned items? It's about 6" in diameter and about 3'...
Thanks for posting these George! I love the chasing handles and will be trying to make a couple soon. Any tips would be welcome! Were these done on a lathe or by hand?
Thanks George for the clarification on how they were done. I will have to try that, all be it at a pretty slow speed to start. I would love to see some pictures of the PGA trophies as well.
Extraordinary craftsmanship! What type of tools did you use on the lathe to turn these? Any pics of the handles?
I can't read German so it did me no good but you may be able to find something going to woodworking dot de

I'll be using the router plane attached below that I made a few years back. QUOTE]
Can you share some more pics and details about the router plane? Simply gorgeous!...
Kind of creepy that it would have been used to drill through someone's flesh and bones...............................on purpose.
Nice artwork but I'm curious what the business model is? Are you making tools or wood products?
How old was the tile and adhesive you had to pull up? My understanding is that anything older than 1980 has a very good possibility of being asbestos based and requires special care during removal....
Nice job! I'm curious how many sq ft you had to do and how long did it take? I have about 500 sq ft to do and was considering renting a walk behind type floor grinder. And how was the dust collection...
Love the picture of the guy doing dovetails in the car! :)
Since the material is somewhat porus, would it accept dyes? Might work.....
Congrat's on the new lathe. I was going to get the same one from Woodcraft during the sale, but decided to hold off for a while. I'm sure I will regret it but they will be on sale again some day....
If the size fits your projects, go for it and spend the other $$ on lumber. I have it's older brother, '43 born on date, and it works great!
Ironically, Mark just posted a few messages over at the "other" forum today.
I used a Mister Clean Magic Eraser and got most of the scuffs off, although it took some finish with it. I have a can of the original stain to touch up the small area that was worn through but not...
I have some dents in a cherry kitchen cabinet door that I would like to repair but afraid that anything I do is going to ruin the finish. The door is from a 5 year old Wood Mode cabinet and is a...
For $75 you should have been interested. You could have easly doubled your money.
Thanks guys! Project is complete. Ended up making a tenon jig for the TS this morning that slides on the fence. Worked well and I'm sure that I will get a lot more use out of it in the future....
I need to make four bridle joints and am curious of what the prefered method is? Hand saws and chisels, table saw and dado blade, band saw, ???
I feel like I just watched an episode of Scared Straight! The thought of how much $$$ is there sends shivers up a newbie's spine!
Very nice set up!
Yea, I have to admit that I am drawn to the vintage aspect of this like a moth is to a light bulb, and the Ci tool is one of those items on the wish list. I'm going to go check it out this afternoon...
I meant to add that I was about ready to pull the trigger on the 46-460 but wondering if the extra heft and length would be nice to have. Plus the included Ci0 finisher saves $140 making the lathe...
