Nice work. Not what I would consider "built ins", though. More like a free standing wall unit. Just curious, why did you not run to the walls and scribe in the stiles to fit? Those side gaps look...
I bought mine at the Woodworking Show from Cut-n-crown. They don't show them online, though. Maybe give them a call/email.
Dave, I'm interested in seeing your tutorials. I'm always looking for smarter ways to work in SketchUp.
I've been using the software for about a year now. Cabinets are easily built by modifying one of the included "seed" cabinets. Once you have them modified, you can save them in a separate directory...
Dave,
When routing small pieces like that, I have better luck using a handheld router and a router pad. I would never try what you're doing with a router table. Too many things can (will) go...
Woodslicer. Very nice resaw blade for those (like myself) using a 14" BS. Can't help with any of the larger size blades, since I suffer from BS envy. :(
They all do now. That's why the (previous version) mini is on closeout.
Plenty accurate enough for cabinet work. I don't see how you could do much better. Not for that price anyhow.
Ok, that makes sense, because I remembered the model number ending with a 7. The 267 was $300.
I've talked to two different Hilti reps. The 265 is $300. Just went to the Hilti site to verify model number. They've added 4 new saws to the mix since I was there last week (used to be only 2...
The 2610/6" is made in Germany (i.e. Metabo), the 2600/5" is made in China (i.e. like everything else :) ). I'm going to try out the 2610 next time Rigid goes on sale.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that this is some brokerage (?) firm that is clearing out the remaining inventory of (now defunct) Jesada. They've been at the past few shows.
I didn't think so either. Heavy on "classes" and Dewalt/PC/Delta boothes. Companies that I didn't see that have been there in the past: Leigh, Keller, Highland Hardware, TWC (bankrupt, IIRC),...
Hey, Andy. Is this the dual mode sander that Metabo makes for Ridgid that you are talking about?
I always prime the whole case and finish what can be seen.
Fein sells a step adaptor that will fit the PC sander or anything else between 1 1/4" to 1" (4 steps). You can cut it off to fit whatever.
Probably can, but Festool isn't going to make it...
I had similar problems. I cut some small triangles of rubber floor mat and put them between the BS and mobile base. Now I don't have any vibration problems. YMMV.
Tyler,
FYI, Rockler is selling their mobile base kits (you supply the hardwood rails) for $32 right now (retail store), $39 mail order. Not bad, considering what decent wheels cost.
Cheers.
Oh, I don't know. Maybe because 90% of a drill press' weight is a the very top. :) Most mobile bases are built with a lower center of gravity than what you have. If it works for you, go for it.
Geezus, Frank. That looks downright dangerous. No wonder you're holding on with two hands.
If it isn't, then this forum has lost all usefulness, IMHO.
Lighten up, guys.:p
The leveling screws and it has spring loaded bearings that push out from the sides to keep the insert tight.
Funny. I was thinking of the "Seinfield" Newman. :D
I've got a question for those of you that have the full set of aluminum inserts. What is the blank insert for? Just something that I've been wondering about.
