Amy,
IF you are talking about the outside of the frame, I have always done it after. That way I can be sure that the routed edges will line up correctly at the corners and the frame will look...
Rick,
You don't have to use the spindle lock. Like Rick, I still use two wrenches to change bits just as I do on my 690. Maybe it's just habit but I like the two wrenches better.

I've wanted to take on a project like this myself. I look forward to seeing the completed project. Please keep us updated. Looks great so far!

It seems clear to me that none of us are making unreasonable requests of Delta here. No one is expecting industrial quality machines for box store prices. I expect a machine to do what it is...
I have a delta TS and a small Drill Press. The Drill Press showed up busted up but the on line place I bought it from replaced the entire unit which also showed up damaged from shipping but it was...
I couldn't agree with Mike more. I don't think a combo blade is the right choice here. I use the Freud 24 tooth glue line rip blade for all ripping and a Forrest WW1 blade for all my cross cuts....
I have that same Skil saw. Great investment. Might be my favorite tool!!
Tom,
Thanks for the link. All My wire nuts are tight and all the connections to the outlets and plugs are tight so I've decided to replace the switch and breakers. Now I'm going to hijack my...
I follow Mike's plan on this one. I use a rabiting bit to turn the groove into a rabit and install the glass from there...
I'm guessing that the main issues with this tool will be the quality of the bits and the amount of time it takes to get prober alignment when doing new setups. It seems to me that there are quite a...
Thanks Everyone,
I will start with the simple stuff this weekend. I did all this wiring myself and I made sure I had true 20 amp curcuits by using 20 amp rated outlets, 12g wire and what not. ...
I have an open stud wall behind my miter saw. I build a box between the studs that is large enough to catch the sawdust coming form the dust port on the saw. I then attached a shop vac hose to...
I'm having an issue with the circuit breakers in my shop and I'm hoping someone here has some advice on how to trouble shoot my problem. I have 200 amp service to the house. I installed a 100amp...
Waterstones and a honing guide here. I usually just touch up the back before I start for the day. Ocassionally I'll use the honing guide to retouch the bevel. My chisels stay very sharp and a...
I was in the same situation a few years ago that you are now. A craftsman router that would only take 1/4" shank bits. I bought an inexpensive sit of Viper bits from the BORG and a set of round...
I have a basement shop here in MI that can get pretty humid. I've been using TopCoat to treat all the cast iron surfaces until I ran out last week and decided to do a search here to find out how you...
Great idea Dave. Thanks for Sharing. I have the two cord thing happening at both my bandsaw and my drill press. I'll have to look at making this modification.

My favorite shop teacher has to be Mr. Fredrickson. What a great man. Everyone looked up to him. He connected to every kid. Even the ones who didn't always connect with teachers very well. I...
If that's your first furniture project then I can't wait to see what you're building with some years under your belt!! Great Job!
I agree with everyone that has said pick the height that is going to work for you. Lots of folks say that if you stand flat footed, arms at your sides, palms down. Your palms should just touch the...
I went a checked out the book yesterday. I really like to see how other people ww and the space they do it in. My little basement shop isn't all that impressive but like the book says I'm always...
I like the idea of a sliding barn door myself. Is this attached to your house? If yes then maybe this option wouldn't look the best. The other thing I would think about is what would taking out...
When I was just a little guy, maybe 4, I started spending time with my Dad in his shop or Barn or where ever. He wouldn't let me use any power tools but he would let me use a hammer nails and a...
I'm not sure I understan your question either but to follow along what the others have said. I never glue raised panels in. they should be free floating. I have used foam inserts placed in the...
