I have certainly read that the shrouded fan impeller works better but it can get clogged easily. I would think a cyclone would solve that problem. Would that impleer type be an easy upgrade? Who...
John I have seen recommendations to slope the lines the other way so it all drains back to the compressor to one central drain. At any rate they all agree to slope the lines so they drain in some...
I think it is interesting to see that premium is still exactly 20 cents a gallon more then regular. With gas double or triple in in price you would think the differential would change at least one...
A quality tank can have the drain valve off the bottom but with a internal dip tube to the tank bottom. Few have the dip tube. Best practice is to have a horizontal pipe out of the drain port to...
Just make sure the voltage is as high or higher. Easy enough if the terminals are the same type and sex or do they solder on?

I wonder how it would work on locks like for a car. They recommend no lube at all, or dry graphite.
Years ago I read about. a British army study of tank tread lube in the desert. I think this was...
It is designed to be a chain lube so it should work fine.
I think waxing the chain is a hold over of mis translating British English. In the early days British soaked their chains in paraffin to...

Since the new ring will not be a perfect match make it a contrasting wood or even brass. Walnut and ebony come to mind.

I mentioned it in my jointer thread and thought I would post a new thread about Dupont Chain Saver spray lube. It goes on wet about like wd40 but in a few minutes it dries to a thin teflon wax film....
I understand that 1/1000 of an inch is the minimum the human eye can see as no being the same. So you are plenty close enough. I have read 0.003 is fine.

Outlets mounted horizontally have to be with the ground to the left. This means Neutral is in top. Same safety reason as ground should be on top of a vertical outlet.

I thought it was a proof of concept joke to have pantograph equipped electric trucks. Turns out it is real for off road mine trucks. If caterpillar is selling them today it is no joke. Of course...
The picture looks like a standard socket at each end. I think they are all the same 10mm size ball. Not really a critical fit at such low speeds.
looks like 8, 10, 13 and 16mm are commonly used....
I do not think that is a hydraulic cylinder. It looks like a gas strut . You need to disconenct it and use a scale to lift up on whatever weight drops down. That force, or more, is how much the...
I am 6'2" tall so I normally like to raise my tools a few inches on a mobile base. I also like to leave some toe room under the base.

Here is a 1873 water powered foundry and shop. The foundry shut down around 2000 because of smog laws. I think it is a museum now. It had a water turbine running the tablesaw...
The radiation thing is for emitted radiation when in use. It is not emitting when it is in your pocket, it is only receiving em waves then.

I priced a book matched elm burl veneer for my 5" diameter table and repaired what I have. Over $400 for the wood. It would be cheaper to buy an antique in good condition and refinish it as...
My Powermatic planer has a segmented infeed roller. All I can find online is how to clean a rubber covered roller. It has some pitch and what not embedded into the teeth. I assume a wire brush and...
