Being one who has done wiring and worked in the electronics field much of my life there is little advice I will offer people who are not trained in the field.
1. Don't do it if you don't know it....
Oilstones can be used with water and it won't bother the stone.
A water stone doesn't do well if oil is used and it can have an unwanted effect on the water stone.
