Does anyone have any experience with the new Oliver machines? I'm looking to add a new drill press and jointer and woodcraft now has Oliver, but I can't find anything about the newer machines.

Wow. Really great, I will have to give that a try one day when my turning skills are up to that level.

Alan,
I'm right there with Bernie on this one I have used Johnson's Paste Wax for years with no problems and Some of my machines are older than I am (but not by much).
Ken
Gary,
Good looking turning and a nicely spalted piece of wood. I have not been lucky enough to find anyone needing a pecan cut down around here yet but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Ken
Great job, I agree on #2 and have been thinking about giving it a try myself if I ever get a chance to get in the shop. Once again great job.

I am another fan of Johnsons paste wax and have been using it on all cast iron surfaces since the 80's. Great rust preventative.

Fred,
I'm just as bad no buckets but a drawer and a large ammo box (use to house 40MM gernades) full of sandpaper remnants. Maybe one day I will build up the courage to throw it all away but I'm...

Ken

I think Mike is in Bailey NC not to far from you, about an hour and a half north of me here in Hubert NC.

Merry Christmas and happy new year.:)
John, as others have said it doesn't look like a first. Great job. I have followed along as the gang has taunted you on and I am glad they have you are a natural. Can't wait to see future peices....
Steve, I agree with wally. Good form, just needs a larger opening to even out the piece.
Ken
Jon, They are both very nice and I am having a very hard time picking a favorite. I like the form of the first and the color and grain of the second. Nicely done.
Ken:D
David, Nicely done. I definitely need to try spheres as soon as the holiday are over. Maybe Santa will bring me some wood and new tools to work with. :p
Ken
Great birdhouses Leo, like the last one the best. I think its the grain that stands out to me as well. Not as cold here thank goodness but stll cold, frosted for the first time of the year that Ive...
Curt, really nice looking piece. I have been turning a little bit of cedar lately and I can see the resemblance but not as dark I like it.
Ken
Steve,
Really great looking form and love the color.

Don't do it I have the HF lathe in my garage it is one of the most unsafe machines I have ever used as well as the tailstock has a 1/4" of play to the left and right (poorly made). Thank goodness I...
