Awesome wood Steve, nicely done as well.
You did it justice Mark. The form is better than what I layed out in the glue up plan. As far as construction went, I cut the pieces into discs and mounted each one to the lathe with double stick...
Thanks for the comments. I didn't mean that the wood didn't have any charactor, just that it didn't have any of the ''burl swirl'' going on in it.
This was actually a burl but not anything much going on in the wood. Measures 7 x 3. Thanks for looking.

Thanks for all the comments. And Ken I hope you are right.
Top notch all the way around Mark.
Jim , I done this one in three stages so there was no deep hollowing. The bottom was hollowed while it was still a bowl shape as well as the second section. They were also finished at that point and...

You shoulda gave me a shout!!!

This is the first piece I have turned since the spring and it was good to spin a little. This is a chunk of wood that a friend gave me that has nice figure in it. Measures 8x5 and I just sealed it...
My buddy Keith Burns gave me some Misquite when he was at my shop last month and I had just enough to make this little vase. Not one of my best but the wife likes it so thats good enough for me....
Not a cut, just disc sanded.
I agree. My thoughts exactly.
This is one of my favorites. Woods are African Mahogany, African Blackwood, Bloodwood, and Holly. Measures 9'' wide x 7 1/2 high. Antique oil finish. ...
None that I know of. I'm sure there is somewhere, Dale Nish was doing them back in the 70's
This is maple and walnut bandsaw bowl. Copied it from Malcolm's method. Nice little project to do. Didn't think to measure it and done gave it to a friend. Antique oil finish....
Thanks guys.
Very nice Bill, I like it.
Sorry for my goof up on the pics on the other thread , here it is again.
This is the largest segmented piece that I have done so far. Its 10'' wide x 16'' tall. which doesn't sound big but its a...
