Yep. That is what it was. There was definitely slop in the shaft and the repair person thought it was likely gonna be worse than just the bearing. It blew up and threw bearings but fortunately...
Thanks Matt and thanks for checking out my stuff :)
I just got a call from the repair guy and seem to have gotten luckier than anticipated. The motor is not done in the way I (and he) had feared....
Thanks for all the info. I am tempted to do the repair and/or conversion myself but can't be sidetracked as its my busy season and I would be pretending to be productive by spending time on it at...
Thanks for the website links guys. There were some solid options there. The 5hp motors were a bit spendy but there was replacements that were not too too bad. Matt, where do you go to look for...
Mike, the bearing burned up. I dropped it off to get looked at and, potentially, fixed. Repairman said that given how much the drive shaft is wiggling it could need more rather than less work,...
I am looking at either overhauling or replacing my 3 hp single phase motor on an 18" 2006 Jet Bandsaw.
Does anyone know where I can find a decent replacement that would work (even if it is not a...
FYI, one month later. I DID end up purchasing a new tube, not 100% sure that this was the problem but having attempted as much diagnostics as I had in me. The new RECI tube cost me $1300 with...
Got it from Ray. $142
Thanks Bert. I will call Ray and Carole and see what they have. Will keep in mind the Ruida controller as well. I had been hoping that someone might have created an "open source" software that...
I have a 9060 100Watt Laser from Laserworld circa 2013ish. It was a nightmare, I bought another laser, and, after a couple years, I am trying to get this one up and running again. In the mean time...
I need to replace the 130-150W tube in my Sinjoe 1290. The power source is an HY-DY20.
I searched the forum for "best tube" and "best tube brands" but did not get anything that really answered...

so i did the tape test. left most is from tube to mirror 1, mirror 1 to 2 and then mirror 2 ro 3. I cleaned the mirrors with alcohol swabs before testing by pulsing at 2mA. all the burns...
I had not been that thorough, just had checked the nose cone (as Kev had suggested) and the cleanliness of the lens and mirrors. I checked the nose cone situation again and, alas, the laser seems...
Thanks Kev. I know what you are saying and I will check it again.
Bill, thanks. Just to be clear you're saying that being able to output 30 milliamps is a sign that the power supply is probably not the problem, correct?
:( Is there a way to diagnose this and know the tube is actually the problem before buying a new one?
I have a 130-150 W Sinjoe Laser. It will not cut through 1/4 " cardboard at 60% power (not even after a second pass) and it will not cut through 1/4" wood, period. Not sure it would get through...
Thanks to everyone for the feedback. All of it was more than helpful. Kev, I understand what you are saying about optimizing the path and that hadn't occurred to me before. I don't know if my...
Hello out there. I use my machine infrequently to do paid work. Usually an acquaintance or friend who wants a small sign or the like. I use my machine mostly for producing my own products which...
63.5mm focal length,20mm Diameter. does the thickness matter?
Well, I have had very little luck with improving things. The misting with water definitely helped aesthetically and may have improved cutting moderately. Cutting two and three times helped only...
That would be great. I know that working with 1/4 inch cork has been much more challenging than any 1/4 inch woods I have tried cutting. I would take it to a water jet if it wasn't so expensive.
Thanks Matt, what does the transfer paper help with? I am more concerned with actually cutting through the cork than I am about aesthetics (some burn darkening is acceptable, its for function more...
Misting with water did seem to help. Still not getting great results (ideally the cork pieces would just fall out after cutting and I wouldn't spend good time manually popping each one out). Doing...
