The yellow pine was kiln dried to a moisture of around 7-8 I do believe. I can't remember for sure.

I think I'll use mortise and tenon and then screws into the tenons. I can plug the screws and sand. That should be a strong joint.

So do you think I can re-sand with no more than220 grit and try to stain again? All I have stained so far is scrap pieces.
