New solution to eternal problem, I like what you have done.
just watched it the other day:

I do a couple of shellac coats first and then several applications of tried and true varnish oil, resulting in a nice low gloss finish. I suggest you do a test board first to see if you like it.

Yes I agree, thanks for all the effort.
As far as I know just the 14.
This saw was actually once sold as a Laguna 14 SUV (based on my conversation with a Harvey product manager), it still retains the holes for an axle and 2 threaded holes on the right-end (narrow side)...
Steve,
Yes the legs are threaded through the base, M12x60, according to the manual. You have an interesting idea I'd like to know how and if it works out for you.
Mike nice boxes.
Scott,
If you don't want to see gauge lines on the show side don't put them in until you have sawn down the to the bottom of the pins or tails. Use a pencil line first to define...
Steve,
I'll assume the front of the saw is the side you push the wood into :). If that is the case then I have the casters on the right side of the saw. To move the saw I grab the dust port and the...
The week I got mine we were scheduled for heavy rain and I wasn't sure if i could get it into the garage with out some unpacking/disassembly. I asked the freight company, Daylight Transport, to hold...
Yes as Jim suggests it is a positive sign, i would try it and if it performs well keep it. The cheaper stuff does seem to heat as quickly and makes some noise. I bought a cheap non-stick from Costco...
I dropped a exhaust filter on mine and got a little nick, no big deal, the Schott ceramic glass used in these tops is very tough. I have an old cast iron pan that is a bit rough on the bottom, I just...
We switched from a gas cooktop to induction a few years ago and I would never go back for all the reasons already mentioned. We had a 30inch gas cooktop so the easiest thing to do was replace it with...
Clifford, I have the Harvey mobile base but used a double layer of 3/4 ply, it seems pretty solid. Did your base come with the longer screws to support a 1.5" base?

Good luck with the Harvey. I bought a bandsaw from them last August; it arrived in perfect condition. The carrier was Daylight Transport, the driver used a pallet jack and pushed it right into my...
Our new dog, if I do bring him into the shop then he will be a secondary dust collector.
Bowie @12lbs he should max out at about 20.

Thanks Derek, I could use some carving chisels;). Just ordered a few; unfortunately they are on backorder. Once I give it a try I will let you know.

Hi Derek, The box looks great. I am curious about the finger depression, looks like you might have defined the edge with a forstner bit and then carved the depression, was it done with bench chisels...
Assaf,
An article in fine woodworking, if you subscribe, by Bill Pavlak, helped me with my resawing. In general the more you do it the better you get at it....
I have a small shop so I keep them on a tool wall right behind my bench, all within arms reach, the chisels are in the small tray. All frequently used tools are on the wall. Having it so close to the...

A friend of mine has a double wall wood burning fire pit, very nice. It has a adjustable grate for cooking and unlike any other wood burning fire pit I have seen no one gets blasted with smoke. It is...
I purchased some from McMaster-Carr
https://www.mcmaster.com/screws/brass-slotted-flat-head-screws-for-wood/ they are very nice.
We put in a Rinnai 2 years ago and we are very satisfied. It is not cheap, but we did it to reclaim about 9 soft of floor space in our tiny laundry room. We have the unit with the recirc pump and...
