Are you trying to glue the sawed faces together? I seldom get glue-ready surfaces from my saw and will run the sawed surfaces through the planer. Then you will get excellent glue surfaces.

Thanks. I can’t claim full credit for the design. I was inspired by Holzer Ames Furniture's Sapele Armoire. I mainly borrowed the eyebrow door frame design and using pomelle panels.

Thanks all.
This is the finish schedule:
Sand to 180 (I could have gone much higher on the pomelle to enhance the chatoyance of the figure, but I did not want to sand through the...

Very nice tables...and a bonus you don't have to finish one :).
Very nice.
Very nice...looks like a lot of thought and work went into the bench. I agree, the vices are very cool.
Very nice...I love curly maple.
Dying seems like the way to go...your first sample does look like it is in the neighborhood, but just more dye is needed. Todd's sample is close as well. You are definitely more patient than me...
What about boiled linseed oil?
I had good luck with Arm-r-seal. However I will use a Wooster Foam King foam brush on any surface I can apply to in a horizontal position. I finid it easier on the large flat surfaces to use the...
Fascinating information….
