As was pointed out to me when I started, you can turn small pieces on a big lathe, but not big pieces on a small lathe. Boysie

Steve,most seem to agree that the timber is maple, I would guess that it is beech. we get a lot of beech over here i'm not sure if you have it over there,but to me it looks like beech. whatever it is...

HI, I have the supernova2 I have two of them as a matter of fact, but a friend has the Vicmarc 5 1/2" and it is the real thing for large work. More exp. but I believe worth it.
