With the wide variety of shoe soles available from hard leather to marshmallow foam, wood vs concrete doesn't seem so important.
I've got the G0609X 12" model with Griz's spiral cutters. Completely satisfied.
I'd just go with the cleanest, straightest grain.
A pair of pocket doors would work inexpensively. No door swing to deal with either. Marginal heat retention though.
Right, but legislative solutions these days are like unicorns. :D
+1...........
I've been told that these types of cracks happen when the trees are felled. I've taken to asking the yard to skip plane my wood so I can inspect them as I load.
Jim,
I've been eyeballing Timothy's MFSC and have added it to my projects list. Your write up is probably going to help me out quite a bit.
Thanks!
John
A frequent question on DC installs is the problematic connection of sewer (ASTM 2729) to flex pipe. Here's how I did it.
Cut slots into the end of the pipe.

I've grown to really like the Gripper. I especially like the control at the end of the cut as both pieces disengage the blade.
Google irrigation supply phoenix and start calling. They probably won't recognize "D2729", but they have it and probably call it "sewer pipe". They have fittings as well. I found it relatively...
Life is too short to waste time fixing the swelling that sweat drops and runny nose snot cause. 24/7/365 baby! Although I do use a programable thermostat.
And just a reminder that DWV and Sch 40 aren't interchangeable (different ODs) so once the choice is made, there's no mix and match.
It may be that 8" duct is part of the problem. I bet if you used 12" duct that you'd have better results with a shorter run. 8" is about 50 square inches while 12" is about 113 square inches. ...
I put 12 of these in a 26" x 32" new build. Although more than needed, I always have one nearby overhead where I need it. They're on two switches (in an overlapping pattern), and I rarely turn on...
If you put in boxes flush to the floor, you can put in twice as many as you think you need. Then cover the ones you don't use and you can still walk over them. It allows you to not be married to...
1+ for Builddirect. I recently bought 1,000 feet of laminate for my shop from BD for $1.59/foot. Add sound choice underlayment for 59¢ and I'm in business. If you go the laminate route, I found...
Some of Kyle's work process makes me nervous from a safety standpoint, but the work is compelling!

My experience on our truck yard mirror's Michael's. Additionally, LED are much longer lived. Cities everywhere are changing street lighting over to LED. Some reports suggest that 3000 color range...
Paint the "ceiling" as well. It seems like unpainted floor joists suck up light! The more light reflective surfaces the better.
Peter,
I'd be tempted to cover it up with plywood. You may need some shims here and there, but it would be quick and easy. A combination of construction adhesive and tapcon screws would work.
