I'll be doing a lot of that when I get back to building mine. It's covered in dents. Something to work on in the future.

If the old chest was solid wood, I'd be picking it up and using the wood. That's how I roll. I've gotten some really nice maple and white oak that way. Close to an inch thick. Very usable for hobby...
You'll get a chuckle I'm sure. I was flattening some twisted 2x3s to use for crossmembers in a temporary christmas train table. I have started drawing up something better for next year. I'll be...
This is such a good thing to do. I applaud you. Having already benefited from a similar give away, I got 2 planes from Steven. I put them both to use a couple of days ago
I love SawmillCreek and you...
Of course we want to see the picture of it final setting. This turned out beautifully.
My self imposed limitation would be sheet goods. I'd rather handplane a twisted 2x. I have a lathe and made a bunch things for Christmas presents in the past. Inside out ornaments was my favorite. I...
Sigh, maybe I should build decks. Nooooo, I'm to old for that. Oh well, that's why I decided to work part-time at my job instead of retirement. That way I can continue to have fun with hand tools...
Let me just add, I don't need to make a living at it. It would be nice to earn a little extra. I'll c9me up with something I'm sure.
People actually make money selling wooden products. I've been building all my life to some degree and never sold anything for profit. The junk I've seen that actually sells, so they say, cutting...
I watched 1 and that was enough for me. I just dont like any videos where the person has an accent, only because of my hearing. I don'tunderstand wmhalf of what Alex is saying and it makes for...
I've read and re-read this thread a few times and will probably do it again. I'm still not quite ready for the workshop so I living it through you. I was just looking at those routed dovetails and...
The op mentioned it was a spit top. To me, that indicates a a gap between the tops. Let's make sure we know what he is planning exactly.
That doesn't sound like fun. Good luck on that. I'm still recovering from knee surgery. A simple meniscus debreedment. I hope to get back in the shop soon.
I have no idea about the carcass saw. I need to get out my magnifiers but, I know it sucks at cross cutting. Probably a clue.
I bought the requisite files for sharpening them and will have a go at it one day. I just wonder how good a job they do straight from the factory. What are others thoughts that have bought these...
I own a few Veritas saws, Dovetail tenon and carcass. I think the dovetail cuts great but the other 2 are not as I hoped. I never sharpened them and wonder if I should have before using them, like...
I WAS going to do dovetails for the Dividers...but...
Don't the dividers need to be below the frame like you have them? I've never built anything like this but I hope to give it a try one day.
I have never used pinch clamps but I would try to have a convex curve on at least one of the boards. Then they clamp in the mid section first and close up on the ends last.
Thanks, I may want one.
Bigger screen
I'd argue that you don't need any pressure if the joints are perfect. At least on smaller projects I've gotten good results with rubbed joints. So I wonder where the idea of huge amounts of pressure...
I've never seen a scraper like that. Home made?
I decided to open the laptop this morning instead of my phone. That board needs to be seen in larger format. I couldn't stop looking and my imagination ran wild. My SIL and I just finished a bar from...
