Does anyone know if the power rating of the CO2 cartridges are comparable between a traditional laser (i.e. ULS or Epilog) and the water cooled/air cooled "Chinese" type? In other words...is a 50Watt...
Brent/Walter;
I'm interested in something similar. Who did you buy it from? If you don't mind me asking, what did that machine cost, before and after shipping. Where does it ship from and where are...
Dean...did you look at American Typewriter Condensed like I suggested?

I prefer to round corner the cards when I cut them out of the sheet. It looks much better, does not cut or scratch when handled and slips in and out of a case or wallet easier.

Thanks all...I think the inline duct fan is a great solution to my situation. I am deducting that it has to be at least 400CFM? I mostly engrave and vector cut wood and plastic and some paper...very...
I have a large, noisy free standing exhaust unit. I recently moved to an environment where the exhaust unit is probably going to be too loud. I think I can get access to an unused bathroom exhaust...
I also have successfully engraved stainless with the Ferro products. But when it comes to aluminum, "fuggedaboutit"! You can't make any money engraving at a speed of .2...at least it is not worth my...
Thanks all for your suggestions. I have cherry veneer and it engraves nicely, but I find that it chars/burns pretty badly when cutting though I have unsuccessfully played with the settings to try and...
I have been engraving and cutting biz cards and invites on 1/32" Birch Plywood. I have a wedding invitation job to do and I am no longer satisfied with the quality of the engraved image. The quality...
My own experience is that CerMark and Thermark DO NOT work on Aluminum...Ferro assured me that Thermark would work. I found out that it does not work on any aluminum and I am $100 poorer!
Mike- I was thinking that adhering fabric or canvas to the inside of the hinge would extend it's life. Like the old roll top desks.
Dee- Wouldn't the pad slide around if it is just held by a...
A short soak in water makes the hinge more flexible when dry
Here is the english version--it is really brilliant. I tried it and it works but the cuts have to be wider...when folded the "shoulders" hit each other

Hi
Try Higuera Hardwoods
FYI yall...they have been on the wall for over 3 years and sprayed and cleaned many times. I originally used a sharpie successfully.
But hey Dan you can overthink this or make it as complicated as...
Dee---Cleaning???? What's that? But no it doesn't come off when cleaning-I don't spray the household cleaner on switchplates anyway and the ink stays in the groove when wiped. I use the same method...
Hi Jeff
It is easy to do. Firstly use a white or ivory switch plate that has a matte finish not a gloss finish. Cooper manufactures a good one - i got them at Lowes or HD. Engrave with a very low...

These are beautiful and unique pieces. Your technique and talent are outstanding. I read and re-read your last post and I am unclear how your laser is being utilized. Do you put down the...
I use the wipe off board pens like Expo or similar-available everywhere
I don't know what material you are engraving, but I use the wipe off pens (mainly black but there are lots of colors available). I use them on white tile and white plastic. I have tested it for...
