I use gasket foam that has a self adhesive backing. Works great and is cheap. Buy it by the sheet and cut out what you need.
I have used both mdf and Trex decking material left over from a deck job. I coat the MDF with a 50/50 titebond II/water mixture and let it dry. For the seal on the pvc I have used double stick...

I would jump all over that deal. Had one for a long time before I sold it and upgraded. It did a lot of turning for me with no issues.
I would try and find a used Jet. The harbor freight lathe has had some issues.
I have a trend airshield and it does a good job.
Looks great - you can get wheels at any skateboard shop.
The anchorseal works best. You can buy direct from the manufacturer and save some money. A few of us just shared a 55 gallon barrel and the end cost was $7.00 a gallon!

Roy, if you are looking for a good lathe I have a Jet 1442 that I will be selling next week. If you are interested in details send me a pm.

You can buy anchorseal direct with free shipping. A five gallon container is $57.00 I usually find a few guys to split the cost and we divide it up in gallon containers.

I apply a product called second skin to my hands before I use CA glue or any finishes. This stuff seals the skin pores and doesn't allow anything to stick to your skin. Before I began using this I...
You can also use paraffin - melt it down carefully and slop it on the end grain. I have used latex paint with some success, but the paraffin and anchorseal work best.
