I doubt you will get any strong shades self tinting. I would buy primary colors and maybe black and white to mix.
HDO is a softwood product so not as strong as BB but better for exterior use.
Southland Electric is a good source for used.
+1 on housed treads. There is an excellent article in an early FWW. Squeak free for decades.
Richard, I sent you a message.
Short money for a good cause. Send me a message and I will reply.
Richard, I may be interested. I sent you an email.
I have clamped my ROS in a tail vise and clamped a guide to the bench for small parts.
Thanks. I'm going to watch the ebay listings and look for a good one.
A bit of a post ambush. I have been interested in super surfacers since Makita USA released theirs about 40 years ago. I noticed several used machines for sale on ebay from japan - 100 volt. Is it...
I have a old 24" Monarch planer 7hp that I run on a Kay 10hp RPC and it works fine. I previously used a 7hp homemade converter. It worked but struggled at startups and bogged down with heavy cuts....
As Kevin said, use a vertical table. I would set a bevel gauge to 37 degrees and use it to set the blade - takes the math out of it.
I worked in a lumber mill in high school. The owners son in law used the 18" RAS one night and tried to rip a 2 x 4. Fed it the wrong way. Went through the wall.
I was a FWW subscriber from issue 1. The first 50 issues were amazing. it seemed like the articles were timed to whatever problem I was trying to solve. Tage frid's hand tool expertise, machine...
14" turret saw here. It's not going anywhere. Cut some12' to length yesterday.
3 is my magic number in the shop.
I have an old fay and eagan jointer. Every few months it needs tweaking, which I attribute to dropping heavy s--t on the infeed. Get some rubber pads like Marc Hennebury says - he is an expert, or...
Bill, your idea is good. I’m considering threaded rod with a coupling nut.
Maurice, the last image looks good, where do I get it?
Stay in place. I think it will need a support since it's horizontal. About 20" long..
The water shut off for my house is in the wall under the laundry tubs. How can I extend the handle about 16"?
If you build a table with space between the planks the moisture content will not matter as much.
I would definitely try the saw before rebuilding.
Looks like an exact copy would work. Wood wedge long ways, steel wedge crossing like a hammer.
