The slots are at an angle si I assume they are for cutting the splines on a table saw.
But that begs the question of how to cut slots with the dovetail bits using the jig.

The bits do not fit in the slots. I tried, but definitely not enough space for the bits to rotate.
1) It is possible the kit is a rudimentary spline making kit.
2) The two dark pieces of wood were part of the kit - potentially for making splines.

This is a genuine query…… (by a puzzled woodworker!!).
I was organizing and uncovered the attachment wrapped in cellophane which includes two router bits. No paperwork so can not identify its proper use. Your assistance is appreciated.
