It shouldn’t take too long to slow down, maybe 5 seconds. If you set it too short, say 3 seconds, no worries the VFD will hit overload and the cutterhead will coast to a stop after. Just add a second...

Could you post a link to these 10hp VFD’s for $200?
Never mind, found it. How can these be quality at $200? Experiences anyone?
Maybe my standards are too high but I can’t believe you went ahead with this without knowing if you were legally allowed to.
I’ll pass then, thanks.
Change your browser if on a computer, or switch to “full site” on mobile.
Interested. Can this take a bigger 3.5 ho motor?
3hp Teco FMX would my recommendation.
Hard wire from a breaker to the VFD. Hardwire from VFD to jointer. You can have a plug in either end, but plugging in the wrong wouldn’t be good.
I...
A 10hp VFD for $200? I hope it works well for you, but a quality 3hp VFD is usually around $200.
A VFD should have no effect on bearings, maybe windings but not bearings. Bearings don’t care if...
Could you please tell us if you own this storm drain? How is it not the property of the city/county?
Haven’t heard about the legality of this yet. Is the storm drain the property of the AHJ? If so you likely shouldn’t be tapering with it without at least asking first.
Thanks Jim, good points. Do you have a link to your outfeed table?
Good points, thanks.
Guess my thread got moved here to die. Oh well.
Welcome Jamie, but I think you might be on the wrong forum.
I’ve got a couple shop upgrades coming and I’m trying to plan ahead. Currently I’m restoring a Powermatic 72 12” table saw (and adding a Rotary Phase Converter for it and a few other 3 phase machines...
I’m in the market for a dual mode sander and it will likely be a Bosch 6”. Half the price of the Festool and by all accounts the same or better performance.
I hear ya. My good friend grew up in Falls Church a street over from Lake Barcroft - we fished that lake a lot.
Lots of money in the NOVA area - old rich white guys is what I mean. Lol
Recycle it and buy a new one, not worth it. I have a dozen of them I use occasionally, and have started recycling them since they tend to multiply.
3 year old thread people.
That price is insane. Hard pass. Doesn’t even have the angle or the fasteners (at least not pictured).
Ah, I see Terry. Sounds like a good setup.
I heard remote and was thinking wireless, like a car’s key fob. I’d like to figure out a way to do that. I’ve found a couple posts about it on OWWM and...
What I really need to do is get a router attachment to mount the router in my Festool tracks. That would work great for this type of task.
Terry,
Could you explain in detail how you wired the remote switch? I’ll be building mine soon and that would be a great feature. Thanks
$525 isn’t a bad price. Wonder how much shipping will set you back though?
