I just started replacing my Craftsman with Wera. Great German brand, very innovative and a joy to use. I have been looking for projects to do just to use them!

The story I got from Ruan was anything of any consequence, i.e. high tolerance parts, was made at their own factory. Things like bolts, screws, some electrical parts, come from other places. All...
No, Hammer does not even remotely come from an "Eastern" factory. It is 100% assembled in Austria. There are a few parts that could be sourced from another country but they are much the exception...
+1 Looked at both. Got the A3-31 with the spiral head. Never looked back. Cuts as smooth as glass and is very quiet. 4 HP doesn't bog down, either.
just curious. router fences don't have to typically be "square" because the bit is round and it doesn't care where the point of entry is. Not sure where the need for squareness is for a router...
I must be lucky. I recently purchased a Supermax 19-38 and it was perfect right out of the box. Tracks as straight as a string, doesn't burn the wood.
+1 on the slider. Love my Hammer. I never get close to the blade. I would also look at getting either a CSX or t15 drill. I have both and I use them all the time. I have collected quite a bit of...
I have both as well and tend to use the RO most of the time. It really is a versatile machine as I make a lot of end grain cutting boards from very hard wood and need the power to get the scratches...
I'm leaning towards the Felder. I have a Hammer K3 and it's a great machine. My wife likes the color better! :)
That's what I was thinking. Getting the 30mm spindle and then using a collar. The router spindle is a $1000! Think I'll keep my router table for those occasions.
I'm considering getting a Felder or Hammer saw/shaper combo in the near future and was wondering if 30mm tooling will work on a 1.25" spindle. It wouldn't seem so as the conversion doesn't work out...
I do a number of cutting boards every year and bought a Panelmax from Peachtree last year to do the glue ups. It takes a few minutes to get it set up so I do a dry run first. Once it's all set,...
+1 on the Hammer Slider. I love mine. Got a 48 x 31. It's not an off the rack size, I paid for the 48x48 but had them cut it down to fit my shop. It's awesome machine and it's fun to see the...
great idea but I'm not sure I can adapt it to my Hammer. I don't have the outrigger table where I could move the crosscut fence to the front. Maybe I could use the eccentric clamp instead to hold...
I have the TS55 and a variety of rails. Once in a while I need to join a pair and have zero issue with alignment. Marc Spagnoulo (wood whisperer) did a recent review of the Grizzly and IIRC, it was...
I went from a DW 735 to the new A3-31 with the spiral silent power head. I never used the DW without hearing protection. It could wake the dead. The A3 is so quiet you can barely hear it running a...
I love my Hammer slider. I only have only the 48" but it slides very well. The build quality is outstanding. I have never seen a Felder in real life so I can't draw a comparison but if it's that...
Kinda like when I used my slider for the first time I suppose... :D
Not to hijack the thread but this raises an interesting question for me. I have a shop made router table and cabinet with a Jointech system. The router is a PC 7518 so it's got plenty of power for...
I have heard the good thing about the splits is there is almost no lost of cooling because there isn't any ductwork. It will on the opposite wall of where I intend my equipment to be located which...
We are in the process of buying another house which will have a 3 car garage. The one car side will be my shop area and I want to climate control it since we live in Dallas where the summers are...
I was told when I ordered a Hammer A3-31 if I wanted the spiral head, it had to be ordered with the machine. No retrofitting offered at this time. I'm glad I did. It is very quiet.
I have been out to your site on occasion and wonder why you don't post your list prices? Why don't you want to discuss them? Hammer, Laguna and others have no issue with posting theirs. No biggie,...
My 75 worked just beautifully right out of the systainer with the factory blade. I found using the outrigger splinter guard helps too. One thing to be careful of is when you tilt it over to cut 45...
I have made several over the years using purpleheart and maple. Now I use walnut and maple. Purple heart is too brittle and it chips easily. I have had no issue running end grain boards through my...
