Most epoxy resin do not like moisture. If you can dry the wood in an oven that helps. Also, coating the wood with a thin coating of resin before you embed it in the resin helps.
Just placed an order, thanks for the heads up.
I have the same saw and have been impressed with how well and how long it cuts. It has handled mesquite etc with no problems.
I have been a long time user of Abranet, but did give Wonder Weave a try. Did not really like it. It felt too stiff and it was hard to tell what grit you were using. JMHO
DAMHIKI Don't ask me how I know that.
Just got mine and looking forward to having some fun/segments. Thanks for the review.
How about a piece of 1/2 inch sheet aluminum?
I think you are talking about system three Gel Magic. I have used it on a couple of projects and it works very nicely. You can color it etc.
I use a product called Strikehold. Designed for cleaning and protecting gun parts. FYI
I got the mate 2 when I was at SWAT this year. Jimmy was there doing some demos and I got to give it a try. I really like it a lot. It can hog out a lot of wood and no catches. Very user friendly.
Do you have his contact info? I would like to order a couple also. Thanks<lynn
If you are inside I would go for a corded chainsaw. I use a Worx( around $100) powerful little guy. The new battery powered saws are great, but more $$$.
The RZ mask claims 99% filtration down to 0.1 micron. I just got one and it is very comfortable to wear.
Hi Jason, Thanks for that info. I could not find a schedule on the SWAT website,so that really helps.
This will be my first SWAT symposium and would like to know what airport most people fly into. Also what time do things start on Friday? Thanks,Lynn
Ditto Reed, I have a hard time selling wide rim platters.
I sure like to see those long ribbons coming of the gouge when turning green wood. Dry Mesquite is quite a challenge to turn, I usually have to sharpen my gouge every 5 min,not so with green wood....
I cast my vote for the Arbortech minigrinder. Lts of power and easy to control.
Hi Roger, what length did you have them make for the G0766?
Sounds like the same problem I had. It was the potentiometer. I got one from Grizzly, but it took them a long time to get it to me,so I ordered three of them from Amazon for $15 for all three. No...
I took a 5 day class with Jimmy a couple of years ago. Best learning experience I have ever had. Lots of tips on technique and design plus some good jokes. You will really enjoy the class.
Hi Bric, I have the same set up and have had the same problem with the banjo getting stuck. I am waiting for the new potentiometer to arrive so I can get back to work.
Sounds like a good deal esp with a favorable commission rate. Congratulations. Lynn
I just got off the phone with Grizzly. The new redesigned banjo will not be available for at least two months. All lathes ordered before that time will have the new banjo shipped to them at a later...
