Pretty cool. I think I would have added "triangles" on the outer edge at 12, 3, 6, and 9 to take out some more wood similar (to the other areas.)
Thanks to all who have helped.
The B-Spline and 3 point curve may be my new best Corel friends!
The B-Spline is a bit tricky, but very good for long undulating curves, and 3 point is perfect for...
Once again thanks.
What I am really challenged by are the tapering, undulating, sort of organic shapes.
My old ways work, but was hoping for something in CD that I had totally overlooked.
Thanks Mike, but I am working within set size and design idea guidelines that make stock art not usable for this job.
How did you make the lines on the interlocking hearts Valentine reply you posted...
250248Is there an easy way to generate shapes like the green ones in this design? In the past I would draw a line and manipulate it with the shape tool and then draw another line and manipulate it to...
If I am not mistaken polcarbonate is same thing as lexan. It does not react well with laser, especially cutting. Plexi-glass is acrylic and it works well
When I want to turn text to vector I select the text, right click on black in color palette, left click on "X" in color palette and it is black hairline. To modify I "select all nodes" and then...
crlaurence.com has lots of options, too.
Frank, that is good for mene, mene laughs.
My method is a bit like Bill's. I use pen tool and then f10 to shape tool. Make all the lines curves and adjust them. Unless there is a lot of wispy hair, it can be done in a couple/few minutes. ...
I like the detail in the top, it looks great.
Okume, aka African Mahogany, and Spanish Cedar both engrave with great contrast.
Bill, some details, please. What is the object, how big is it, what is the blue color?
Thanks,
Check out thead "PhotoGrav class" from a couple of days ago.
I use PhotoGrav a lot. My method depends on proper photo prep: start with good resolution, adjust to proper size, increase highlights and contrast as needed, remove background if you wish, convert...
I mount granite using gorilla glue to bond a piece of plywood that is cut undersize to the back. I then use various methods including slot, wire hanger, and metal tab for hanging. Slot in the wood...
I have engraved a knife that had some kind of black finish on the blade by removing that coating. Looked real nice when done.
Ditto on the paint with granite.
There is good info here:

Roy Brewer has a tutorial on a barbed wire border. Rope you can do yourself. Kind of hard to explain, but not too hard to do. Basically draw a squiggle to represent one turn of the rope, and then...
Like I said, can't even open the file myself in CD. When I open the file, CD immediately and without any warnings shuts down completely. Darn confusing situation. I am attempting to get info from...
Doing the same thing for me. Won't even reopen in Corel. This is first time I have saved a file from X5 down to V8, perhaps that is the problem?
The thumbnail shows up in my file selection, but...
Here is something I want to share with you all. Merry Christmas! Well, MY BAD, apparently this file doesn't work.
There is a link here to a place to a free download to do something like what you want....
Bad things could happen anywhere, but it is wise to play the odds. Those stories that start out "he was a great kid, just having some fun at a club at 3:00 AM" say to me choices have consequences. ...
