I agree with John, it looks cool as it is, carrying more of a story and history. Unless there's someone wanting to buy it restored, I'd leave it. To get it back together, you can clamp cauls on to...
Cool, I didn't know the platen was vertically floating, I thought it was fixed on the horizontal plane.
What can a stroke sander do that a WBS can't?
See the link below to a coffee table I recently did. A customer brought a similar cookie to yours out of WO, except it was also cupped terribly, about 3/4". So I intentionally cracked it in 3 pieces...
it's too easy to overcomplicate a sled. I just use a piece of ply, a stop strip screwed to it, and business cards to shim the workpiece.
I had this saw on the Grizzly mobile base and it was pretty good, though not as confidence-inspiring as a stationary setup. The rubber pads under the leveling feet allow for some wiggle.
Switched to 100% metric about 1.5 yrs ago. After the initial getting used to, it's faster and we have less mistakes. Only exception is when conversing with customers.
FWIW I bought mine, barely used and complete, a couple years ago for $450.
I think a floor model spindle sander, particularly one with a large table like the Grizzly, is going to appeal to a small percentage of woodworkers. Most guys I know have a tabletop unit, if one at...
That Lee Valley pin would be super cool if it was eccentric, allowing for side-side and front-back adjustment. A bit like this, but smaller of course:

41.5" for mine and I'm 6'
I like it. I can see really well for accurate setup and cutting
The Salice isn't concealed. It's a standard cabinet hinge with a recessed cup. So basically surface mount, very visible, not at all the same look as a concealed hinge.
I'd like a low-profile or concealed hinge for this door. Anyone know of a concealed hinge with travel restriction to about 90deg? Being inset so far, I have to consider the door contacting the body...
I got my Lignomat SD on eBay in excellent condition for about $110. After about 5 years it's still great. I don't understand why anyone would want a pin meter. Every slab I've seen that's got pin...
I see it that there will be two tracks spanning the entire width. One track for the two opposing doors closest to the wall, one track for the two most in the room. All the doors will have their own...
Thanks all for your replies. Based on your advice and talking to my friend who will loan one forklift, it looks like it will be best to only borrow one forklift for everything. By renting a box truck...
A few inputs.
No one I've met, in multiple states and multiple countries, regrets hydronic heating. You can target the heat with valving such that certain zones stay warmer. You might even be able...
There's ones like this that come up time to time.

Good lift height, sufficient capacity, would do the...
Well, I certainly want to get one at some point, it's just a matter of cash flow.
According to the rental place, $346 is pickup and delivery.
I've thought about the battery option, as Bill...
What wood would be easy to carve for a beginner and yet suitable for a butter press? My wife wants to hand carve a 4 x 4 block for some friends which I'll make into a butter press.
They have...
Osmo Thin can be sprayed from the can in an HVLP gun. Very easy.
I'm looking at moving my shop soon, up to 45 minutes away, and am faced with a couple decisions. Thanks for being a sounding board. I'll want a forklift eventually, out of convenience not necessity...
I just heard back from my realtor. He thinks a shop could add to the property maybe 75% of it's build cost.
I really wish I'd bought a Tersa...as many of you know I've been through the same drama, over 2.5 years of it, with my head from Hermance / H3D.
And it continues.
There's a new guy in charge at...
