I really like my Noden kit I bought. I based my bench design from an old magazine but I can’t remember which one. The “base” is a beefy cabinet on a frame and the top is a torsion box. I could see if...
I mostly agree with what everyone says, but wanted to point out any timelines design regardless of style type or construction will always be superior to me. Anything too trendy will look too dated as...
For those of you in the area Valley Hardwoods in Dliworth had a major fire Friday night. https://www.valleynewslive.com/2024/01/19/valley-harwood-supply-building-damaged-late-night-fire/
I don’t...
There is an adapter chuck for small bits.

If replacing the bearings are beyond what you want to tackle Harbor Freight should have a replacement motor for under $200. Also looks like eBay has a 3 phase for around the same. I don’t know what a...
You answered your question. Batteries will wear out before the tool wears out especially from high demand tools. This will get expensive and batteries could become obsolete. I have a Makita corded...
I have a dining table project in the works and was considering making the table extendable via one leaf. I attached some screenshots as I basing the plan from a Fine Woodworking article. The table...
Everyone else summed it up good, but I will add I like their non plated screws for interior work that will never be exposed to any exterior environmental conditions. My opinion is they are what...
I’ve had no problems moving tools, but they do leave small imprints in the Dricore osb.
Yep I too have only a 8’ ceiling and this summer I covered the entire floor of my 24x26 garage with DriCore standard not the insulated. It’s been really great and much warmer this winter. It’s...
FYI: Triton has come out with a PC 3.25hp router motor clone. I bought one but haven’t really used it but it seems decent. https://www.rockler.com/triton-325hp-router-motor
No these circuits won’t be GFI. I’m actually only planning on only one circuit, but I do need a dedicated second circuit for my new dust collector. Once things get done I think I should post a shop...
Thanks guys the conversation kind of got off track :) but some good info. As in “better” I currently have an extension cord I made to run to each machine one at a time. So running dedicated circuits...
6-20r is what I have now just was wondering if the consensus was to install something better. I guess not, thanks guys.
I’m in the process of properly wiring 220v circuits and will be installing new outlets. What’s everyones opinion on the type of plug to use? Twist locks? Other options?
Thanks!
I’ll throw my opinion in as well. This has been a very good discussion and some good points have been made. I have a DF500 and honestly use it more for cabinetry and even solid wood carcasses. It’s...

I don’t know but I’m liking this simpler approach. It’s been a really good hit.
I'm trying to determine the inside dimensions needed for a 10 gun cabinet that stores the guns vertically. One plan I found for a six gun cabinet puts the inside dimension at 37". For ten it would be...
Your tools are essentially long and narrow and since you only turn you shop could reflect that.
Never have used one. I think CNCs replaced them.
The difference is in the details mostly with the fit and finish. The switches feel cheaply made but work, the decals fall off and the paint missed a few spots. Does it matter how the planer cuts? No....
Just build a big sled beyond the capacity of the Kapex. Put it aside for later when you need to cut something bigger.
Thanks guys. I’m going to incorporate a insert and see how it goes. Yes I’m using tall Parf dogs as a guide for my track.
Maybe to help the gas or electric furnace not work so hard warming the space add a wood stove . Set the shop temp to 40 and the heater will maintain that temperature. Then when you want to work warm...
