I've done 600 x 400mm panels before. 0.9mm ss. Magnets also help (remove your nozzle) like Mike said, thicker ss = less warping

A wider scan gap and a damp cloth beneath the job will help. I bought some large heat sinks that have also been helpful.
It's all in the type of nozzle you use. Needs to be close to the fluteboard (~1mm) and heaps of assist pressure, focus into the material by about a 3rd of its thickness. Remember it is polypropylene...
Damn, why wasn't the glowforge around 12 years ago, I wouldn't have wasted all this money on these trotecs and other metal tube lasers over the years. And the most painful aspect is that the...
You're all going about it the wrong way. you don't convert it to curves. Select the text you want to weld in corel and go to arrange>shaping>weld OR go in and create a shortcut button for weld, like...
I have the multi setup rotary on mine and it paid for itself within the first 2 orders. Wouldn't be without it now even though it sits there and collects dust, it's only used once every couple of...
Can you adjust the motor down to align the shaft? Slotted holes? The flexible coupling is doing its job but it shouldn't be as flexxed, that's an adjustment issue
No worries Ian. Even though Bill doesn't see the sense in it, your 15 year old ULS will run rings around a 60 watt chinese laser (engraving) cutting would be similar maybe. No offence Bill.
I might be able to help you out in the meantime Ian (I've got 2 Trotecs). I'm in Toowoomba. I'll PM you
Haha yes stuff does get expensive over here
We're talking Australian dollars Kev on the new tube. For you it would be around $2000 vs $800. If Ian sent his over for refurb, the postage would be around $500 alone plus insurance, the month long...
Excellent news Kev.
That's not too bad. I wouldn't hesitate at that price. And don't worry about the GST component you'll get that back. You'll be up and running again in no time which outweighs the losses of waiting on...
Also disable any usb power saving modes in the power settings. But it was the pci setting that stopped mine from having issues.
Disable PCI express > power link management in your windows power options, solves many issues, also make sure your Graphics card driver is up to date, also solves many issues. Be keen to see how you...
Thanks mate, this is going in my list of "What do I do when ?????" which is actually just a heap of little bits of paper stuck across the top of my monitor in tiny writing so I have room for more...
Yes not cheap at all

I'm using the product too Sean or was. When the roll was new it worked flawlessly, now it works exactly as you described after about a year. My roll is just a paperweight now. BTW I'm in Australia...
It'll be ABS Chris but do a green flame PVC test on it first anyway
Ok if it's usb I've got another suggestion, go into your power settings in Windows and switch off "usb hibernation " go into Device Manager, navigate down to Universal Serial Bus controllers. On...
Switch off any features in your material database / advanced settings like IPC, Raster correction and High quality. Also which version of windows are you using and is it a serial cable or USB?
This sounds like a product that people would be interested in purchasing (in particular myself) For engraving I use a square area based spreadsheet unlike the complex one I use for printing.
Where'd you get that from Julian? I bought one years ago from cncplus in Germany which has been great but it's not very deep (made for rotary engravers).
Here's a screen cap, took about 8 minutes but the 3 swoops and the kerning could do with a bit of refining.347950
Here you go, tidied up the swoops and kerning347951
This logo would be insanely easy to just redraw with either Inkscape or Corel (i wish they were all that easy), 10 minutes tops probably more like 5. The typeface is Crillee if that helps, give it a...
