No, I have not used Crystalac Crab Coat. Simply don’t have a need for a finish formulated for exterior use at this time. However, I have been using several other Crystalac products recently, and I...

Take a good long look at Clear Penetrating Epoxy Sealer (CPES) from Smith and Company located here in Northern California. The product has been around since the 1970's, so it has withstood the test...
FWIW, Crystalac has a waterborne product that accomplishes this task. It's their Amber Toned Sanding Sealer. I've done some tests on cherry, and the results are quite pleasing to me (and the wife)....

If you don't immediately connect with them, be persistent. They're a very busy small...
Chris, yes and no. FWIW, in my experience, Floetrol alters the final sheen of the paint. The Ben Moore Extender does not.

Dave,
Ask your Benjamin Moore dealer about this product: Benjamin Moore Paint Extender 518. It's sort of like FloTrol, except, in my experience, much better. I've used it to thin various heavy...

Ask your Benjamin Moore dealer about a product called Benjamin Moore Extender. I have used it to thin not only BM Aura, but also PPG Break-Through and even Behr house paint. Depending on the product...
