I guess it's worth repairing even though I am in no way wanting to support such a lame company?
I'm so angry I want to drop them out of spite.
Called back and they have no average cost of repair.
Insane. If you Google this other people have this problem. Someone was apparently quoted 280 plus 80 in shipping on 2019.
Is there any legitimate reason to get this fixed vs getting the makita version? I understand the festool thrusts the blade (via angled gear teeth) in one direction to make a better cut. I like that...
Called team Festool and they said it has a thermal overload but if doesn't turn back on in 15 minutes consider it broken and send it to Indiana to get fixed
Figured it was a heat overload. Compressed air and minutes of waiting.. nothing.
I googled a bit and this seems to just happen and now it needs to be repaired? Anyone with experience that can...
Oh man, you need to get this ASAP. That's a 2k fence alone....
I like to avoid that feeling where your stomach drops and blood runs cold.
Yeah, true. And make it a triangle so that the edges are more likely to disappear

This is the bigger picture. It's the huge 42 x42 x42 cube thing on the left side of the photo. The damage is on the customer door facing edge
Some tools fall into the category of "bigger really is better" and planers are one.
I have an 18" and there are times when I wish it was wider.
But then eventually I'll have a wide belt...
That's a good idea too.
I feel like gluing in veneer never goes as well I wish it did. But it is a potential solution.
Could I put filler in (putty, wood filler, etc?) get that to be smooth, paint to match, and clear coat?
Hi,
I'm getting better fixing damages, but this one is going to be tough. The only thing I can think of is coloring it using something like Mohawk products (something I've never done / used...
That's interesting. Well for a few hundred you could have a machinist bore it out and add a bushing.
So how do the hinges work on this narrow of a band? You use euro hinges directly into the panel? (edit: I guess they do just go into the panel)
Edit: Here is a thread on the Festool page w/ some...
Yeah, I didn't know if anyone here had personal opinions on what is available. The dogs aren't in the shop. They just happen to require lots of pets in the morning.
We have dogs and pet hair is an issue on everything I wear..
Sigh.
So a full blown suit is best for me
I have had one w a tilting head for 9 months or so. I haven't used the tilting head yet but I would have used the sliding bed if it had one for stiles.
So I would put that higher on the list. ...
Yeah, a machine shop can always get you where you need to be shaft wise
I don't use mine a lot but mine is a skilsaw and it works great. Sturdy and no complaints
This is really confusing. Photos would definitely be appreciated just to settle my curiosity.
Did you find out what made it freeze? Did you stop using this machine for a really long time and it...
The guy asked for my batch number when I asked him about the viscosity. So I'm guessing you can give that to them and ask.
It sounds like the sprocket isn't the problem, but a symptom?
Did you get the roller to roll over by hand? I'm in agreement that maybe sleeve bearing failed and the roller shaft welded itself to...

No cl added to the can and I just gave the can a few swirls before opening
