The anti-squeal goes on the rear of the backing plate, between the caliper and the rear of the pad, the non-wear part. It prevents the metal on metal from squeaking.

I'm in agreement with this, although I have a ton of dog holes. I've seen alot of good woodworkers using nothing but F style clamps to secure the wood, so I think this is easily doable. There are...
Lol...I wouldn’t have minded Chris. You did a beautiful job building it. Nice, job on the weighting. I might have to do the same. We’ll see. My thickness planer is under there now, because...
I had the Harbor freight with the reeves drive. Turned on it for 10 years or so. Bought the Nova 16-24 a couple of years ago and it is like night and day. It’s one drawback is it is not variable...
Boat suppliers sell jars of desiccant that absorbs moisture. If they are in a cabinet, you might consider putting a jar in the bottom of the cabinet.
Amateur, but just thinking this though...I don’t thing it will make an issue short term. Theoretically over time if the glue fails, you might pull the front off, although that seems very unlikely.
It’s a good point Bill. I’ve been trying to make a Cherry hall table for our entryway and she finally talked me into a Bench, since we have an Oak sofa table in our entryway. Lol. But you’re...
Thanks Bill. I made part of the articulating arm, the basic structure was bought, but only articulated in a linear motion.....think hinge joint. It's for her embroidery work. Essentially, the top...
Nice job. This is one of my to do’s. :)
So although my wife(of 32 years) has never tested positive for Covid, we were both VERY sick Christmas December 2019. She has since been afflicted with all kinds of disorders that she didn't have...
Thanks Mark.
Almost finished with my 36 inch Hickory frame saw. Got the blade and hardware from Blackburn tools and they are top notch. Have a little bit of shaping to finish and some finish to apply. Full...
As far as Japaneze saws go, I have two of the Suizan folding saws (a Ryoba and a Dozuki)bought from Katz Moses. I think they were 30 apiece. They are great saws and and worth the price. Bonus...
I have 2 or 3 Pax saws. They are fine saws. They are made in Sheffield, England by Thomas Flinn and I believe they make saws for several other brands. As far as modern, not hardened mass produced...
Looks great. I appreciate your work flow. They look very similar. In Neanderthal world, we are not looking for interchangeability.
It's very nice. Like the through tenons. Classy. :)
I have the HF and have had it for many years. It works great and I am glad air bought it. If I had to do it all over again, I’d get the Rockler Dust right. Not sure what shipping would look...
I bought several of the Jorgensen Parallel and F clamps to replace cheaper alternatives, including Irwin. I’m with Marc, I love them.
Thanks, I am pretty familiar with the site, but will spend some time there. Appreciate all the information and your willingness to share it.
Josh Garrells or Flannelgraph Radio on Spotify. Mostly acoustic folk now that I’ve mellowed.
Jim, did the calipers come in the original packaging also? The 45 I bought had a set included. Thanks so much for the information.
Thanks guys. That’s very interesting. I’ll have to measure it.
Hello friends. I recently acquired another Stanley 45 Combination Plane. In the box along with a myriad of other items was these two interesting looking items. I believe one to be a homemade depth...
Many of my co workers drink Death Wish coffee. They seem to like it. They are not in it for the taste though. #nightshift
Great project. A very worthy gift.
