Ok so I found I have to convert to a Bitmap then the texture along with several other features are active. Guess I just need to keep digging.

So I am working on trying to get the checkering or texturing in Bitmaps however I can not get the feature to ungray? I have a box selected just for a test and was going to texture it and it will not...
