Understood...I just wouldn't expect that much difference between two identical mas-produced items.
It's certainly possible they came from different production lots, but no way to tell at this point.

Exactly: their preference for the feeders is not based on location. They actually prefer one of the two (identical) feeders over the other, regardless of where it's hanging.

Oh yeah, big time. I was just out there watching a 4-way (maybe 5-way, hard to tell) turf war at the "good" feeder.

And zero action at the other one.

If so, it's something incredibly subtle: same make/model, bought the same day at the same store.

They're both relatively new and get a good wash-out during the refill process.
And I've tried twice washing/refilling the "bad" one at the same time as the good one, even though it was nearly full.

I have two hummingbird feeders on my back patio, maybe 30 feet apart. They're identical, bought at the same time, and neither has any leak that I can discern. The odd bit is that the birds prefer one...
