I have cut 1/4” with my 45 watt. The edges are black but smooth, and the char dust wipes right off easily. There is no discoloration on the surfaces if I apply transfer tape and mist with water...

I also use 12” high tack transfer tape, for wood, acrylic and other plastics. It’s easily removed, and if used for paint fill doesn’t bleed. It also helps reduce charring on wood.

I always use Anchor 153, a medium tac rubber on clear backing, medium adhesive. It can stand up to granite and be laser cut. You would also need transfer tape to apply it smoothly.

Before cutting, apply transfer tape to the back of the sheets. It will take a few seconds to peel them off after but no more dirty marks.

Kev is right, they will not be the same. I am on my 4th 45 watt tube since 2004, and every one resulted in different settings. Epilog told me way back when that it’s at least 45 watts.

    I suspect...

How thick? I cut 1/4” at speed 8 on my 45 watt. For mirror acrylic, I apply transfer tape to the front, to prevent reflection and cut with it up. Nice clean cuts every time.
