Wow It fits perfectly! It seems that LV used your hand to shape the handle:)
It's true but none of the vintage molding plane nowadays available has got the Veritas lapped blade,a norris adjuster and is ready out of the box...Maybe this could help to make them more desidable.....
Is this new one the long awaited tenon saw?
I learned to split tenons thanks to a Paul Sellers' video,I agree It's v a little dangerous if the grain doesn't run straight but very very fast and funny!!
I've got the rip carcass saw. It's a good tool, easy to start and makes clean cuts.In my opinion it's too short and light for big tenons,in this case i suggest to buy a large tenon saw like the Bad Saw...
I simply try to hit which kind of new plane Rob is speaking about.
Ok,we know that regarding chisel there will be mortice chisels, regarding sawing there will be a tenon saw.Regarding planing...mmm,100$...ok I try to hit it,some kind of metal moulding plane and there...
Thanks to all for the explanation!!
I bought for Christmas the Veritas grinder tool rest + grinding jig.I noticed that the tongue in the grinding jig is smaller than the groove in the tool rest so the jig skips up and down but in the...
Ok Rob,good news about planes..Do the elves know anything about the Veritas Tenon saw?You know,i'm waiting for it from long time:D
Bill,I think this plane has the advantage to follow the grain direction because the blade is straight and not skew and also because the fence can be mounted of either side of the plan.
Steven,i suggest to buy only 2-3 chisel instead of a set, 1/4 and 3/4 are the sizes that you will most use for dovetails or joinery works ad you can always add others in the future. In this way you...
I use the Veritas carcass saw for tenons. You can take this one or you can wait the Veritas tenon saw but i don't know when it will be available..
Wise words Derek, fortunately we can still support the company buying the original tools..
Good news, just in time for the tenon of my new bench...
This molding make things very hard for you, right?I'm curious to know why you choose this material instead of the traditional brass.
Rob,just out of curiosity why don't you use the "traditional" Veritas bubinga for the handles?
P.S. where's the tenon saw:D?
I'm probably wrong but it seems like a combination plane with some particular blade, right?
Or it will be an alternative to the Skew rabbet plane?
You have already drop the bomb Rob, but you can...
Pre-production, this is a good news!I volunteer to examine some pictures of the new toy...:D
I strongly suggest to buy the lv carcass saw,it works well on middle size tenon and you can save money for the 14" lv tenon saw that Rob Lee announced some time ago..
A new saw from the innovative(in form and materials) molded-spine saw line from Lv.These saw were very popular here in Europe as an alternative of the Dovetail Saw, they were used for small scale...
Very nice little plane..I like the lock screw for the Norris adjuster and the new shape of the handle and toe.
Thanks for the review Derek, I have to think about your "wear bevel" theory because i...
I suggest the LV: the 1" width of the blade is a great advantage over the LN.
I hope he get well soon!
I have the two carcass too.Amazing saw, expecially the crosscut one.I'm only waiting for the Tenon Saw
