Dave, thank you so much for posting this. I bought one for my miter saw and it cuts like butter. For only $23 I could not be happier. My only regret is not buying several!

I don't know if the tolerances are the main reason. If I believe anything, it's more like economy of scale. For instance I can buy a B&W laser printer for $59. Think about that. All those complex...

I agree. I just can't understand why a piece of aluminum and a few connectors cost so much. I'll also admit that if I was a pro, I'd buy a track saw today. They are just too efficient to not have...

So sorry to hear about Mr. Neil. He was a talented man who gave advice generously. He will be missed by the woodworking community.

Well, I bought a drum sander and a lathe for my small, yet already full shop, during Black Friday. Now I'm rearranging once again, trying to shoe-horn the new toys in.

Like others have said. It's a space thing. Someone offered to give me a panel saw five years ago but I politely declined because I just don't have the wall space for it.

Coming in a bit late, but since I'm just completed a stair redo, I'll chime in.
I hated the ugly utility / paint grade stairs in our house so I did the following.

A little late but this might help the next guy. I had the exact same problem with wipe on poly over Watco. I've done it for years WITHOUT a problem. For reasons I do not know, this time it didn't...

Sounds like they only deal with businesses now. You might just want to ask a local cabinet place to place the order for you in their name and then you go pick it up. Work out the payment in advance...

I don't know if it's the 21 framing hammer but my HF frammer had got me through a couple of additions and a remodeling job. Pretty much went through a large box of nails, all without a single jam....

If you've already cut it, go ahead and use the 3/4 ply. If not, then 1/2" is more than strong enough. Heck, most of us use 1/4" with brads and that still works for about 95% of applications. A lot of...
