If its just a one off I've used small scraps of wood. For something more permanent UHMW is pretty decent, I'd be slightly concerned about delrin being to slick but it might be ok - I haven't used it...
Waterlox original. 4 thin coats dried for at least 12 hours between.
Nothing will survive forever in that environment (its not just beer and wet, its beer, wet, acid sanitizer, sometimes caustic...
Well there you go at least someone was paying attention :) I was looking for the fs fed us url..
Surprised no one has brought up "An Axe to Grind" from the forest service yet. This is probably one of the better intro's to axes out there.
www fs fed...
The neutral carries the imbalance between the two (or three in 3phase) hot circuits. So in theory you can loose the neutral and as long as the loads are balanced everything is "fine".. until its...
Thanks Mike.
Nice work!
For another take on this check out "Morten Gøttler's Cuban Chair" which has been on my "that would be fun to recreate" list for a long time. I do like your rendition especially how...
Thus is the way of the world.. LOL. I'm pretty sure you're correct.
They can work sometimes, or sometimes not. Leather is a protein based substrate and wood is cellulose, so they tend to have somewhat different dye uptake and binding characteristics. The alanine...
Yeah yeah. a ton of hand dimensioning, super tight dovetails blah blah..
But those crisp 45 edge bevels... oolalah! be still my beating heart :D
I just make my own:
1C latex paint (I've been happy with sherwin williams for this)
1 to 2 tbsp unsanded grout (mix to taste, I've found closer to 2 works better)
Mix thoroughly.
I've mostly...
A set of pfeil carving chisels I was gifted came in a roll (picture below shamelessly stolen from their website) of a very slightly different design with some flaps to cover the pointy ends. Works...
I worked out once what it would take to power a beach buggy (basically drive to the beach, park all day then drive home). It was marginal over about 5 miles and mostly impossible over about 10...
I didn't feel that it was as clear that it was harvesting all of your data for sale to third parties as it could have been. That your in-app facebook "friends", etc.. is fair game was always pretty...
Maybe this will help (err, you likely know all this .. but context): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wetting
Basically the idea is to improve the wetting characteristics. The problem is either...
The plot thickens to a minor degree. There is now evidence emerging that facebook was also harvesting data off of peoples phones using their app. This included things like contact information, and...
You can also clean older stones with a nice simmer in some water and dawn dishwashing liquid (dawn really cuts the grease nicely) if its past the simple green soak level.
I took this as another...

I do love my Sigma 13k.. but its a luxury product and requires a bit of finesse in use.. and doesn't work for everything (for me).
Seriously though Malcom if you do ANY carving (or gouge or...
On the contrary if you're in the right groups. I'm in a woodcarving group and a green woodworking group both of which are generally fantastic resources. The antique spinning wheel group has also...
Somewhat more disturbing is that when a person uses an app they are also often (but not always) agreeing to share their contacts/friends information as well as their own. Imaging that happened in...
There is practically very minimal difference in risk. It is primarily driven by what you're willing to share publicly (which Mike notes Facebook is more aggressive at pushing you to share more but...
There's a local place to me that rents time on a wide belt for really low hourly rates. You might try shopping that part around and see what you can find. The guy by me has been there since forever...
To expand on Pats idea.. drill out the dowels, cut the slots from the top (because that's what you have) and then make elongated plugs with smaller pin ends that fill the slot in the end but not in...
