What do you recommend for making proofs for laser engravings (on wood) ?
I have used vcarve before but it's not very good for detail as well as being cumbersome and slow.
sorry, duplicate post
Any suggestions for creating proofs for laser engraving ?
I have used vcarve to do this in the past but it’s slow, cumbersome, and doesn’t always render an image that captures small details.
I used to have a drum sander, a performax 16-32. I replaced it with a grizzly widebelt and could not be happier with the purchase, SO much better than a drum sander! This is the best built machine...
The smell I have now is because the dust collector vents back into the space thru it's filter; It's a woodworking system, not means for this. It does a good job of evacuating the laser and even...
My thought is to use a dust collector blower, probably one saying to does 1300cfm or so, somewhere in the 1.5 or 2hp range. To be clear, the run isn't 80 actual feet, it's the "equivalent" with...

I’m looking at a run of either 80’ of...
Thanks Tony

where might one purchase these?
Does anyone know where I can obtain laserable plastic sheet such as the kind in these pictures?
Additionally, is there a white plastic sheet that when cut with a laser the edges are still white?...
I question the use of steel rollers on aluminum angle for linear motion, I ‘m sure there is a lot of wear, probably uneven.
I question whether you can tension the chain as tight as it needs to...
I have seen quite a few bad stories on the "direct import" route, then again the bad stories are what get people riled up enough to post. There does seem to be a lot of those stories out there...
Larry,
So do yo know what speed you are cutting those designs at or is that not revealed to you by your s/w?
I am considering getting a laser engraver, don’t know that much about them and have a few questions:
I need to be able to cut 0.125” and 0.25” finished plywood, what kind of power do I need...
