Thanks Kev. I think your screen shots will give me a good reference/starting point.
Hello. I am back.
I purchased a new Theta lens, sized 160MM, stamped on the side, where my engraver came with one stamped with 420mm on the side, but the machine has a label that instructed me...
Success!
Got a new 160mm lens, installed it, and was able to engrave silver!
It wasn't pretty, but it worked.
My old 420mm lens must have been underpowered.

Just picked up a 160mm F-theta lens off Ebay, which if I understand, gets me to a 110 x 110 mm work area, much closer than my current 300 x 300 mm work area, and likely more power?
Can you share...
I ran it at 200 passes at 1000, 200 at 500 half at 80% power and half at 100%, all at 30 freq. and it barely made a white mark on the surface, which wiped right off.
I think my lens is just too...
Well, I have success in saving my Raycus settings!
I opened v 2.9.9 which gave me an error previously, CFG file may have been bad, so I stuck with 2.5.3 as it didn't give me the error message. I...
I sent manufacturer a pic of the board, and they didnt say anything.
If someone knows the file that holds confi settings, that would be grwat. Copy of one would be better.
Does anyone have a copy of a config file they can share? I opened all the files for EZCad, and can't find anything that has my configurations for my Raycus... even if I change it in the software...
As always, a big help, Kev.
I was considering getting a 110 lens for maximum power as most of what this machine will touch will be smaller than 3". Are all lenses made of the same quality?
...
Kev,
I have success (kinda).
I was able to track down the maker of the engraver, and they sent me 3 versions of EZCad 2, and 2.7.6 seems to work (I don't get the no dongle message)
The EZCad...
Heres what the lens indicates

John,
When I unplug the USB, both items disappear and then reappear when I plug the dongle back in and the machine is on. I think I've got it recognized.. and using the odd app that Kev mentioned...
Kev, by using the above recommendation, I can get the computer to move the laser using F3 and a few of the other F's... SO THE COMPUTER CAN CONTROL AND MOVE THE LASER!!!!!!!
This is huge...
Kev,
I've been able to get all the drivers loaded. I no longer get anything that says "device unknown", and this is what windows shows when I plug in the USB with the machine on...

No dongle available and the seller implied that it didn't need one, just have to get the configuration settings in EZCad right, and it'll work. Disregarding that the PC wouldn't recognize it as an...
Kev,
You've been a tremendous help, but unfortunately, I also get the no dongle message in using 2.5.3 (I did have to run it in XP Compatibility mode) So maybe I DO need a dongle for this after...
The all in one driver appears to have worked! I now get the board to show in my devices in windows 7 32 bit.
I still can only get ezcad in demo mode, but I have tried 2.7.6, as I dont have 2.5.3....
Kev, thank you... I will give it a try. I just finished installing Windows 32bit over my 64bit, and the laptop is still working, so that's a good start.
I'll download the zip file and see if I can...
Just found the picture of my control board on BuyToMe.com, and it reads as follows:
"IPG-FIBER-QKI no dog digital V1 fiber CO2 ultraviolet laser marking card 32-bit first pulse suppression"
So, to...
I can get ezcad to fireup, but it always says no dog, and when i send an image to engrave, nothing happens.
In device manager, in windows 7 or 10, I get "device not found" and not an active usb...
Windows 64. Tried it with no virus protection on.
Ken, thanks. I'll take some screen shots this weekend. This is the text I get when trying to install, when I directed it directly to folders that contain drivers:"
"Windows was unable to install...
One more pic. Going to recheck all the connections, too.

Thanks for the thoughts.
I think i am going to try and downgrade my computer to 32bit rather than 64bit drivers
Been there, done that. Contacted 2 companies already, and they are no help.
I know there are some sharp, experienced people here, as i have read many posts. Just hoping someone would recognize and...
