I posted a couple of days ago about my 3520B tailstock sticking. I determined that I needed to replace the Quill and Lead Screw, but found that Powermatic has the quill for the 3520B on backorder...
Thanks Jason! The Mike Peace video was very helpful!!!
Recently the tail stock on my 17 yr old 3520B has been getting more difficult to crank. I took it apart and cleaned it all up. The lead screw shows signs of wear, but I lubed it up and reassembled....
Mike Johnson's post said...."I have a new lathe coming, (3520c impulse buy). Must sell my 3520a. 2k......."
Shipping included? if not, how much?
There is one on Etsy for $1k.
Yes, the rim is segmented.
Thanks
I just completed a display/serving bowl for a charity auction. Big Leaf Maple burl with Black Walnut and fiddleback maple rim. 15 1/2” x 3”.

Woodworker Wisdom is "Buy Once".....but I seem to be a slow learner and it took me a few lathes to get where I needed to be!!! One considerations I don't see mentioned is the cost of the various...
Nice job all the way around (and square)!
I have the same drum sander as JKJ and found that using a sled with a "curb" attached to hold the piece in place works well for me. Otherwise that divot issue can show up....or it might just get...
It doesn't look like anybody has mentioned Juniper. It can be difficult to turn (hard knots) but is quite attractive.
Yep....been there! You snooze, you lose!!!
Nice job Kevin. I would think you'd compliment the fine work yoju have done with a little better wine than "2 Buck Chuck"!!!!
I'm using a Vermec Jig. Kinda of an expensive purchase, but I'm enjoying the ride!!!
Nice JKJ!!!
How do I get rid of this obsession? The character I am finding in some of the wood chunks I used to discard is incredible.

I've been using a point tool I made from drill steel about 17 years ago and find it quite useful. I've been sharpening by hand using the the Wolverine V-Arm device to set the butt end of the tool...
It is certainly hard to tell from the photos. But it doesn't look like any of the 300 bf of KOA that I have. I'll be watching to see what you finally determine it to be.
I’d say it’s going to take an “easy-out”.
I’m thinking powermatic. I have been extremely happy with the 3520B that I’ve put to the test for the past 15 years with only 1-$15 switch fix. The 3520C is a nice looking machine that I would jump...
I cut my own from a plastic milk jug. These have worked for me for 20 years!!!
I’m still learning a lesson I guess, but I had to purchase a Jet 12x36, then realized I needed a better lathe...bought a Jet 1642-2hp. Then another upgrade took me to a PM 3520B. Now............That...
Dang! I ordered the Vermec on Friday and it showed up this morning (Monday). Calling this thing a brick outhouse is an understatement!! My problem now is that I broke my foot and am in a...
