I use the Bigfoot to mortise in space. It helps hold and reference the machine. I’ve mostly used it for fixed plywood shelving.

I use it on a regular basis. I mostly paint over it with milk paint, with the exception of fine cvg. It's plenty hard enough.

I would avoid using it around garden plants. Unless wood products are well aged and broken down they rob nitrogen from the soil as they continue to break down.

I agree with this and would continue the aging to the ball feet. These would be well worn. I think it's important to age the whole piece if you are going to age it.
