My overarm collection is also 2.5 inch split off a 6 inch duct . I'd say it is fair-to-good . The big improvement came when the over the blade shroud itself was replaced with a wider version .

I've got something very much like that , got that stop "fence" piece from Grizzly .
This might be that you're in Australia , but the HF 2 hp. is a common item here that most folks are familiar with . Harbor Freight sells many "less than stellar" , poor quality items , including that...
Correct . Find the machine that may have what your looking for , click on " buy parts " . That particular impeller is the one that can be found in 85 mm and 95 mm heights .
Upsizing an impeller can be hard sometimes . You might find the larger one you want , only to find it needs a 7/8" shaft and you have 3/4" . The height could be 95 mm , your blower housing handles...
My return air passes thru 2 12 x 24 filters , trying to keep the mini split as clean as I can .
The impeller says it is 12 1/4 " , with a 2 HP blower on a Dust Deputy should give pretty good CFM , not super . Don't ask it to do too much , like service elaborate , long branches and it will be OK...
I'd say the "short cone" cyclones ( Laguna , Jet , etc . ) are going to leave some dust in your space . Full size will be better .
I've got the same unit . Mine doesn't respond to the remote for speed changes , but will for on/off . It's 20 yrs. old , so I'm hanging on and hoping for the best .
If you don't have dust collection of any kind , I'd consider jumping in . It's great to buy the DC that will be the last one you ever need , but most start small . A small DC , moved from tool to...
So ..... what's in there ?
Another "I've" got both here . There are situations where one is preferred over the other , so the flexibility is great . I'll admit that ordering 2 sizes of paper is a bummer , but - oh well .
Well done , looks great.
I'm interested in which DC Oneida suggests for 900 sq. ft. shop size and those tools . I'm not in need of anything myself , but curious just the same .
Is there any "ribs" or thicker points in the casting on the underside ? That is where it's safest to drill .
Plus 1 on drill and tap . It's easy and epoxy may fail over time .
PM sent .... Jim
Hello to my fellow Greek . My family is from Anoye , Greece .
Me too. The Festool are better in every way , but the Rigid line is fine . I have both, I like both .
Excited to follow along w/ you . Good luck .
I am building a "shop built " cyclone which might be of interest to you .I am waiting on the cannister filter , and that looks like 30 more days out I'm told . It is a Penn State blower , has a 10"...
Given the tools you listed , the Super Cell was the best choice . Tough to service those small port tools w/ a bigger DC .
A 2 HP single stage w/ bags isn't going to give you the CFM your hoping for . A cannister filter will give you a bump up in performance , if you go any form of a 2-stage collector . Also , all...
Interesting debate . I had never heard of Tersa cutterheads , so I did some reading . I guess your never too old to learn something .
Is your " old steel DD " full size or the smaller one meant for use w/ an extractor or shop vac ? The current steel cyclone offered by Oneida has 5" openings and I believe won't work well with a...
