Hi Steve, try cutting a 5/8” - 3/4” plug with a hole cutter in a 1” board and insert this in the bottle stopper. Now you have a No Cost insert that will take a thread with the 3/8” x 16tpi tap.

Hi Jeff, I have the Chef Specialties version of both the Sphere cutter and the Threading jigs. Both work very well and are reasonably priced.
Try drilling the holes tight so the mechanism actually snaps in. Put the Epoxy in the groove and when set the three fingers will not slip. Just how I have done it.
Hi Bert,
I have really only made one “two start” bayonet thread. It is really fun to make and always draws attention when I show it. I used some plain wood so the grain match is not really a...
As John said... I have both jigs and enjoy the functionality of them. I also have the latest version with capacity for doing Two Start Threads and Bayonette mounts on boxes. Craig is great to deal...
John J. I only have experience with the Beall. It does come with two spanners but these are rarely needed in turning mode. Just hand tighten and go. I have seen the Apprentice and the fit and...
Holding Spindles in the Beall Collet Chuck is the absolute best and most accurate. The Chuck 1 1/4" x 8tpi Spindle thread with five ER32 collets (1/4" to 3/4") are great but when you add 18 x Metric...
Make some Soft Noses that will screw on to the live centre, 3/4" x 10tpi. Make a split one that will fit on the end of your stem, screw it onto the live centre and apply tension. Capt Eddie...
I usually wait overnight for glue to cure but when attaching the rings to the backer plate with hot glue, you only need a few minutes. Last thing in the shop in the evening glue on a new ring to the...
Mike, if your cutting sled is truly good and your segments are good in dry testing. Glue up your rings 360 degrees with a long hose strap. The kind that you screw down to tighten. Set on wax paper...
Hi Glenn, The A5, as you know is a smaller frame size so my Rotary Pen Accessory©🇨🇦 does not have enough room for bowls. It is limited in size and weight. I have however successfully set the laser...
Hi Richard, I thought all the answers were in my post from last night. EleksMaker A5 with the 2500mW laser diode. I have been using it for 15 month and it is working great. I am very pleased with...
Thank you for the question, Richard. I posted this in January 2017 and it has been a fascinating journey with my EleksMaker A5 (small frame) laser. There is a A3 larger frame but all the same...
I need to refill my Jam Jar that I do about once per year. This really works well. I try to put at least three coats on over a week to make sure the Walnut Oil has a chance to dry and the wood has...
Here is one to try, I have been using it for almost 10 years now with great success. Food safe and the Walnut Oil from the Food Store is apparently not allergenic.
In a small pot on low heat: ...
Here is my little Turning Corner of my shop. Turning tools are to my right side so I can reach them without leaning in over a potentially turning work piece. The lathe accessories are in front of...
Nice bowl, Mike! Feels good dosen't it?

If you build the top add on as a box with reinforcements inside, that will be lighter. The dividers inside the box can be used to hold tools during a turning project. Also what is the measurement...
Mike,
You are getting it! Your Brother and Sister goblets look nice. The ball ring should sand out easily, you still have some heft in the stem. Try your big Aluminum cone with a little padding...
Mike, that is sad to see! As we talked about, always just rough the outside and not too far down, you need the thickness to finesse the inside and complete the outside. Now put your selected finish...
Like Thom I have been making my own Vac Chucks for tears and they work great and I can make them for free.
Hi Mike,
Here is the scoop for the Oneway Chucks. I may actually have contributed to this issue in the discussions we have had about various projects.
If you look at the base plate for any jaw you...
Richard. I am going to follow this thread, I have not had this problem with my DVR XP in the 6.5 years of ownership and very frequent use...
It will be interesting to see what the Technatool staff...
To avoid the oil mist, can you not just pipe the exhaust into a jar filled with a sponge to catch the oil mist? In fact set the jar up high so any oil in the pipe will drain back down to the pump as...
As has been said, try a simple approach. 1. Turn the blank round and flatten the to be bottom between centres. 2. Glue to glue block on to the flat (no paper between the pieces, you will be...
