Thanks for all that you do.

Steady rest is what I use when turning stave construction items.

It may sound counter-intuitive, but you might try turning the tail-stock around and locking it in place over the junction to help with the alignment of the extension.
I have had some magnolia that looks a lot like that.
Remember to smile every time that you use it:D

You might look at the rear armature bearing. Sounds like it may have died and is not stabilizing the armature, which will destroy brushes. (been there, done that)

Could be lots worse situations to be in:D
I had the same problem (same drill), found that the brushes were worn out. Called Ken and he has brushes in stock. I ordered the brushes, got them in a day or two. Replaced now runs like a new one....
i have made turning blanks out of two contrasting pieces of wood by overlaying one on top, cutting both at to same time on a band saw. swap the pieces for the contrast, use a piece of shop made...
Thank you for posting that.
By doing this, you pretty much equalize the pressure on each foot to floor.
Really like the imagination and vision.

Ken even has replacement brushes for his drills. Great guy to do business with.

what i found to work, was don't cut the pieces completely apart. With the saw kerf the same thickness as the insert the parts can't slip. Great way to make Celtic knots in stopper or pen blanks.
A friend of mine has the 766 and had the same problem. We corrected his problem, after checking for bed level, by putting a blank on the lathe so that it would be out of balance and spinning it up to...
Good chuck, good price.

Hardy, I added a hand wheel to my 733. If you look at the end of the spindle, you will find two screws. I made a disk for an adapter ( scrap sheet aluminium steel, what ever) drilled holes to...
Great Idea, only problem is I didn't think of it first and do that in my shop:)

check the GreenMonster listing in Community (top of screen) Brice Rogers has a great write up on making a remote for the 766. On the schematic, all that is needed is to install a switch in the 10V...
